No Bounce Bush's Approval #s Fall In 3 Post British Terror Bust Polls

Today's Gallup Poll shows No Bounce falling from a minus 16% to a minus 22%. (Was 40-56, now 37-59) And
as the article cited below points out, both the latest CBS (36%) and Newsweek (38%) show him going nowhere
as well.

So much for GOP's 2006 election terror strategy. It just ain't happening.

4. They've gone to the well too many times.

A while ago, someone posted a master timeline of Bush's approval ratings in multiple polls. Each time there was some terror alert or terror-related development (i.e., an Osama Bin Laden tape), his approval rating spiked. But with each incident, the spike was smaller and smaller, as if the electorate was becoming fatigued.

They've hit rock bottom. They've cried wolf, and everyone is finally smart enough to see through it.

story for all it was worth, and spun it precisely the way the GOP wanted them to.

And they will next time,too. But that's one of the reasons this lack of a spike is so amazing. We have to fight through two layers of propaganda: the GOP spinners and the corporate media. If the public is starting to see through both of them, that is real progress. Of course the GOP and their puppet press will just find more and more outrageous spinning material.
