(RTTNews) - Iraqi Health Minister Ali al-Shemari claimed that seven of his personal guards were arrested by the US forces early on Sunday morning. The personal guards were arrested in a pre-dawn raid on his office at 3 am on Sunday. The reasons for the arrests remain unclear, reported AP. There were no official statements of the incident from the US army.A US army official on condition of anonymity said that Iraqi forces with U.S. advisers searched the ministry after a tip from an Iraqi citizen and took five people into custody for questioning. Ali al-Shemari is known to be a strong supporter Muqtada al-Sadr, who heads Iraq's biggest Shiite militia, the Mahdi Army.
