Fear of terrorists is not my number one Fear.
not even number two, or ten, or one hundred on my list.

I am afraid of my government. I am afraid of getting sick and having no insurance. I am afraid of being abandoned by my government in an emergency.

I am afraid of economic collapse, and another great depression. I am afraid of cheney starting ww3. I'm afraid of my kids being sucked into this madness.

Osama? Fuck Osama, I ain't afraid of Osama.

1. I fear nothing so much as the death of America
...and that's precisely what we're witnessing.

6. Precisely
Any who do not now understand the facts of 9/11 and that all subsequent 'terrorist' actions as false flag-ish' are probably also members of th e 50-odd percent of Americans who still believe there were WMD in Iraq. Most Americans are such gullible sheep.

10. Americans are sheep because that's how we've been trained . . .
from birth onward, Americans are taught to accept authority, not question those in charge, and certainly not think for themselves . . .

"Get your news from you tv, accept it as the truth, and get the kids to soccer practice" . . .

it's no wonder it's taking so long for people to understand reality and their programmed (and thoroughly unimportant) place in it . . .

but things ARE changing . . . people are starting to think . . .

4. Fear of terrorists?
I don't fear terrorists.

There are much better targets than anything in my hometown.

I don't fly anywhere - can't afford a vacation.

I am afraid of losing my job and not being able to get another. I'm in my mid-40s, not a good job hunting age for a woman. I am afraid of getting sick and not being able to afford health care. I have insurance, but the coverage is poor and getting worse. I am afraid I may have to leave my job in order to care for my elderly parents. I am afraid I will always have to work hard because I won't be able to afford to retire.

I am afraid of what the administration may do to hold on to power.

Yup - that's about it, terrorists? Nah. More likely to be struck by lightening and not be able to afford the ambulance ride to the ER.

7. Although I have more fear then I care to have, fear of terrorists or of
the US being attacked again is so far down the list it's almost non-existent in comparison.

Although I don't know how the polls run, most Americans I've spoken with are more a lot more afraid of not being able to provide for their themselves or their family then of "terrorists".

8. too bad some gutsy newspaper publisher/editor doesn't just pick up
your lines here and make them their headlines. those lines need to be headlines in every newspaper in this nation. we are being had big time by bush and the corporatist media.

9. You say that now, but how did you feel on 9/12/01

I hear you though, there are many pressing issues facing us as a nation and people. But I'm all for anti-terrorist efforts too.

As far as Osama goes -- I'd still like to see him dead.

12. While I am quite certain that there will be another terrorist attack,
Edited on Tue Aug-15-06 08:25 AM by Arkansas Granny
I am not fearful for myself, because I don't think it will happen here where I live. The fear factor is still there, and I have family that lives in a more likely area to be hit. I also fear my government because of the way they are curtailing our freedoms and using the risk of a terrorist attack to do so. Capturing or killing Osama would give a lot of people a false sense of security and the neocons wouldn't want to lose that wedge. That's why Osama is still on the loose.

Edited for spelling.

13. We'll get used to them like other nations do.
Sad really. And you may be right about Osama, he's good for an invisible boogy man now, but they always have him as a trump card. Even if he was found dead in the desert, bush would take credit and use his corpse at the convention.
