a better grasp of what's going on than many of us do methinks. Add in their creative abilities, and I must admit some jealousy of such talent! At least they're using it for the greater good.

4. Saw it for the first time this weekend......

...disturbing images, but I knew what I was getting into by watching a film from the Wachowski Brothers, the force behind The Matrix trilogy. Kudos to Hugo Weaving as 'V' (Smith in The Matrix) for defining his humanity through a mask.

6. I just saw it last night. Great movie. It "Hit the nail on the head"..

But the movie is based on a graphic novel by Alan Moore, and the Wachowski Brothers didnt direct but are the producers of it.

Still a great movie, just wanted to clear that up and give credit where credit is due.

10. A Great Movie unfortunately

it completely missed the point of the Novel. Anarchy means "without leaders" not "without order"... Also several of the changes from novel to film were grating for me...

Saw it at the theaters and bloody cheered!! Its a road the we are on and the movie will become a reality of we dont stop them before its too late.

I also bought it the day it came out on DVD, Amazon had the 2 disc set for under 20 bucks.

V is from a British newspaper comic from the late 60s, the graphic novel is availible too...

14. My son told me yesterday that he rented it

and loved it. Even though he's seen it, he says he's going to buy the DVD, because he wants to support the ones who made it. He believes in supporting those who speak the truth. Can you tell I'm a proud mom? He and my other children are the reasons I support Cindy so much. I can only try to imagine how I would feel, to lose the three most precious people in my life.

15. There is a difference between the graphic novel and the movie

There are several differences between the movie and the original story...

One was that the movie says that the US in the future is in a civil war and being devastated by a plague.

The graphic novel stated that the Cold War went nuclear, the Russians and Americans both launched a nuclear warheads at each other. The UK was spared because they disarmed at the last second.

The reason for the difference was because the original story was written in the 1980s when the cold war was still going on. The movie was updated to current events.

change the venue from england to the USA and you have what's going on and yet to come

we already have the manipulation of the media, and warrantless surveillance/eavesdropping/spying going on

the rest if not far behind..

But it's not a bad film; pretty enjoyable. But comparing V the comic book to the movie is like comparing Hamlet to the Lion King.

29. Misogynistic, superficial, masterbatory, but excellent cinematography.

The ending where all the people who'd been killed by the oppressive government suddenly were alive & okay was sentimental hoakum. The idea of the good guy being the guy who blew up stuff could have been provocative, if it hadn't been treated with such two dimensional thinking. The whole thing was based on a comic book--a medium geared toward superficial treatment of complex topics.

If you're gonna make a movie that's intellectually shallow, you need to at least make it fun. This is the same reason that the first Star Wars movie rocked and the next five all sucked.

Really, it's just horrible watching Alan Moore's brilliant work being repeatedly butchered.

If you liked the film, I urge you to READ THE BOOK. You'll get so much more out of it.
