If Lamont gets a huge chunk of money, volunteers and media attention at the detriment towards other Senate and House races. Now don't get me wrong, I want Lamont to win. Hell, look at my registration date, it's obvious I came to DU in part because of Lamont. I started hearing about DU from my other Lamont groups.
Having been so involved in the Lamont race, I worry that other races are being looked over. It's certainly not Lamont's fault. All of the fault is placed squarely upon Lieberman. If asshat wasn't running, than this wouldn't be an issue. However, I'm friends with someone who does fund raising research for a Congressional candidate and it is tough for them because so many Democrats are close to being maxed out. Where's the best resources going to go? Towards Lamont who is receiving tons of media attention or towards Congressional candidates A,B &C who are just $250 dollars from tipping the scale or gaining momentum.
Anyway, Lamont's victory could help to get Democrats excited 12 weeks before the voting, but I think this is something to watch out for. If anything start using Lamont's victory as a starting point in conversations. "So did you hear about that race in CT? Well you know right here in CA, NY, IL, NV, WY, whatever, we have a hot Congressional race ourselves." Okay, done expressing concerns. You may resume regular DU activity.
