WTF, now there are cell phone terri'sts?
The TV was on this morning, and I found myself watching some of the network morning shows, talking about the cell phone terrorists. What's the problem with buying cell phones and reselling them? Is there a law against that now?

1. you know...I just don't get why buying and then reselling them is such a
great idea.....who buys a cell phone from someone else and not a store??

I heard they can be altered though to act as detonaters...but I have no clue as to how the hell that would work.

and detonators need current.

It is believed that his has led *, whose inability to spell would probably appall most 10 year olds, to now avoid battery hens and buns cos they've got currants in them.

15. You know what? A firecracker can be a detonator!
A flashbulb can be a detonator!
A transistor radio can be a detonator!
An alarm clock can be a detonator!
BE AFRAID!!!

Seriously, just because something can be a detonator means nothing. Almost anything electronic can be made into one, if someone wants to take the trouble.

2. It's drugs, not terra
They're mixing up their BS wars. I see it here in DC all the time: dealers grab a few hundred of those prepaid anonymous cell phones, switch all their batteries out, and then rotate them on a schedule their customers know.

6. OK, I can buy that as "suspicious activity", but is it actually a
crime? I'd think not, but you never know.

3. Apparently only if you are of ME descent.
Otherwise, if you were of American/WASP descent, you would probably just be considered a college kid out trying to make a few extra bucks:eyes:

Of course I can't confirm this, since we've yet to see any WASPs picked up for reselling cell phones. If I was younger, I would be tempted to try this experiment and see if I was picked up as some sort of "terrorist"

QED. I'm not saying it's right or wrong.

10. I've seen them!
Just yesterday I saw a woman driving an SUV solo at 45 mph along a four-lane highway, cell-phone to her right ear and gesturing with her left hand! (I'm sure the person with whom she was conversing was better able to understand her point through the use of hand gestures. Yep.)

:eyes:

You want terror? Just imagine being on the highway with people like this!

13. who needs a tracfone?
these phones are the most expensive per minute, awful customer service and very few free minutes initially.
they are however EXTREMELY cheap.

who are they best for?

drug dealers who need an untraceable fone they can ditch

drug addicts/hookers who can't be expected to hold on to a phone before losing it anyway or having it stolen. great for the unreliable.

these who only need a fone ONCE. coordinated robbery/crime , terrorist for bomb trigger/coordination..

Years ago, drug dealers used to pay hundreds a pop,or more, for phones that whose cell access identification had been hacked off the air from legitimate customers. instant anonymity.

now you have anonymity for 20 bux!
