Interesting observations on the NYTimes Best Sellers list
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/20/books/bestseller/0820besthardnonfiction.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

There are 3 political related books on the list - Dean, Suskind and Coulter.

Yet only 2 warrented a review from the NYTimes Book Editors and the third, the one that has been on the longest for 9 weeks, has yet to be reviewed.

I'm guessing no one is interested in wasting their time reading Coulter's book

1. I keep getting notices that it's avail. for $4.95!!!!
I get a daily email from newsmax, ONLY to keep aware of what the RW is pushing in propaganda, and at the bottom of that email, they've been pushing Annies book for $4.95. Guess that's the only way they can keep it on the BS list!

2. Coulter's book is only there due to bulk sales
People like Scaif buy them in bulk to give away if you contribute to the GOP. Regular people don't buy many of her books.

3. Actually they've been doing a better job of hiding it
She hasn't had any of the markings next to her name; obviously it's well known that NYTimes denotes bulking. I'm not sure how they did it, but if you read the post above yours, obviously they have a giant source of books available to sell for dirt cheap. Some how they're 'laundering' her bulk sales so the mark doesn't appear on the list

7. I've seen Google ads for it at .20!
*If* you join a conservative book club!

I have no idea how they do it, either.

8. I'd be interested to see EXACTLY what their definition of "bulk sale" is.
I bet it would be pretty easy to find the loophole
being used to avoid the 'bulk' designation this time around.

And do all those $4.95 near-giveaways get counted the same
as a REAL book that sells at the list price?

9. I read the review of her last book by the NYTimes
they ripped her a new one on that. I'm guessing NYtimes just isn't bothering with her anymore
