From the OH-12 " So, there are a couple of related stories I’ve stumbled across this morning. The first is how the BWC covered up the $215 million in lost money in the days prior to the 2004 election. (HT: BSB)"

2. not watchdogs but lapdogs!
The bottom line is that the paper was convinced to hold a story that might have made a tremendous difference in the 2004 elections by the Administration who would have been most harmed by publication.

So now we have two concrete examples of GOP representatives working to control the leak of damaging information for political gain that the public has a right to know. In one case, our media watchdogs failed in their obligation to filter out the BS and show the people the truth. Shameful.

6. To clarify
The media did not have information on the BWC scandal. Those who were supposed to oversee BWC withheld the information from the media. The NYT did know about the wiretaps story and sat on it.
