Wow! Where to begin on this editorial (Bush impeachment)...
Impeachment hearings? Nobody launches "impeachment hearings."

Should Democrats reassume control of the House of Representatives this fall, an increasingly likely event, they will not convene hearings focused on the possible impeachment of President Bush. Just ask any Democrat in Washington except the delightfully candid Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., whose lust for impeachment is almost refreshing.

<snip>

"Regarding Conyers, he's been called into (House Minority Leader Nancy) Pelosi's office," said Reid. "Don't worry about that (report)."

Not that the Conyers report needed a lot of debunking. It is heavy with references to left-wing conspiracy-theorist Web sites of the "Bush lied, people died!" variety and columns by Bob Herbert and Frank Rich, both of the New York Times. We didn't need a 350-page report to know that Herbert, Rich and their pals on the op-ed pages of the Times would like to see Bush impeached.

2. Love how neocons dismiss an argument by simply naming its adherents
<<<We didn't need a 350-page report to know that Herbert, Rich and their pals on the op-ed pages of the Times would like to see Bush impeached.>>
How about addressing the 350-page report on its merits? You might as well challenge a study on drunken driving because MADD and the police are oh-so-predictably opposed to DUI. Maybe I'm romanticizing the past, but it seems that there was a time when this brand of reasoning was a red flag: "wacko talking here!" Now it's the flavor of public discourse. WHere to start? Does anybody remember how to listen anyway?

3. Is this true or not?
Last time this article was posted, doubt was cast upon it. For my own information I'd like to know if the quotes by Reid are true, and also if Pelosi has "spoken to" (i.e. dressed down?) Conyers.

4. Write a letter to Pelosi..
If you are in favor of impreachment of Bush, then write a letter to Pelosi informing her of this and also questioning her about "calling in Conyers" regarding his report on possible impeachment hearings. What does Pelosi call herself doing?

5. Reid and Pelosi are minimizing Bush crimes.
Why?
