1. No D-bonds for me, but I am donating to the DNC
They sent me a survey to fill out since I'm a precinct chair, and I'm sending it back with some bucks to help them out.

9. Our precinct just turned Democratic in 2004
It's been Republican for some 8-12 years before that, but it flipped during the 2004 elections, and I'm trying to make sure it stays blue. Kinky Friedman is threatening to flip it red again for Rick Perry, but that ain't happining without a fight.

14. This is only about 3 minutes of it, but glad to see it.
MTP repeats tonight at 10 on MSNBC and NBC both, I think.

5. I love Howard! Plain-spoken and to the point. Love the ending
It's not leadership for Bush to leave the war to his successor. "This guy got us into this mess and this guy needs to get us out of this mess."

Geesh, imagine Bush holding himself accountable for anything. Go, Howard!

7. Yeah, Howard! Speaking of Bush and passing Iraq to the next
president, he says, "This guy got us into this mess and he needs to get us out of this mess!"

10. I love Howard too. When nobody else had the courage to speak out,
he did. And he has taken the right steps in organizing the Dem Party.

However, there's no way I will give any political organization money until we have a democracy again, and the only way we can have a democracy is by having a voter verified paper ballot trail AND REQUIRED AUDITS for every election. I'll give my money to Kathy Dopp and NEDA or John Gideon and Vote Trust, etc.

11. Even in Colorado's El Paso County there is change in the air.
We have a more effective party chair and organization is beginning to make a difference. We need to keep at this for the long term. though. If we lose our races here, we will just have to keep on working and aim at the next opportunity. Howard is quite correct, rebuilding our party structure and improving communication and networking will help keep the grass roots healthy for the future. The Democratic Party at both the state and national levels have long written this area off, what a loss for progressive issues. El Paso County actually swings state wide elections to the GOP because the GOP voters have been organized and the Dems have left the progressives here to virtually fend for themselves. Progressives are chronically demoralized here. But that is beginning to change. We may never have the influence the GOP has here, but we can start making some changes that eventually will educate more of our moderates and independents and garner their support on a more consistent basis. That will make a huge difference and undermine the monolithic voting block of country club conservatives, religious extremists, and those working mindlessly to annihilate government as we know it.
