As Israel/Lebanon war front news includes information that senior Syrian army and intelligence officers continue to transfer rockets to Lebanon, presumably with Damascus direction and support, and as the IDF forces uncovered the bodies of a number of fighters who appear to belong to Iran's Revolutionary Guard and thereby confirm reports that Iran sent several dozen Revolutionary Guard fighters to bolster the ranks of Hezbollah, some folks in the US not only ignore Syrian and Iranian involvement, they also seem to celebrate the terrorists ability to not lose. They seem to be ignoring the fact that organizations like Hezbollah, Al-Qaida and Hamas are not just committed to Israel's destruction at the rhetorical level - as a means of palliating restive populations - but are actively pursuing this objective as a near-term goal.
Death and Terror and making refugees of 300,000 of Israel's population is ignored by these people as the death and destruction in Lebanon is their only focus. While the the death and destruction in Lebanon sickens everyone, these folks seem to forget that the rulers of Lebanon in the south were folks that were and are causing death and destruction in Israel.
I guess it is time for Islamists to celebrate Hezbollah's ability to hold its own against an Israel working under rules that -despite what is thought the folks mentioned above - were trying to limit civilian causalities.
But I do wonder if an ebullient mood is appropriate in non-Islamists - should/would non-Islamists cheer on terrorists attacks on the US by native folks that claimed the US had no right to exist and should be populated only by those that can trace their identity back to the folks living here in 1620?
If there is joy to be found in Israel not advancing to Beirut, should the thanks for that be sent to Hezbollah?
