I got interviewed on the Tampa Fox affiliate this afternoon. 2 minute interview distilled down to 15 seconds.

edit: The funniest part was, before we found out about this meeting, we were planning on spending the afternoon putting up campaign signs after a DEC meeting.

So, I was wearing shorts, and a T-shirt that says "GENUINE TEXAS HOMEGROWN DOPE", with the chimps face as a bud on a plant. It was very visible during the shot!

3. Skyrocketing Homeowners Insurance Rates in Florida.

I went there with my congressional candidate, John Russell. He was interviewed on the CBS affiliate, and I got the Fox.

It was a homeowners meeting organized by a grassroots organization. The lead speaker was a gasbag Republican State Senator, who's running for CFO. He kept going on and on, saying the legislature won't do this or that.

So, during the question and answer portion, I said "Hello... Aren't you a legislator"? Then he claimed to have a plan to reduce rates, and I asked him, "Governor Bush said very publicly a couple of months ago, that insurance rates have to go higher, and he said that he would be the point man to lead the effort. How does your plan square with his plan"?

Compared to my neighbors across the street, who have riverfront homes. I said my rates were blackmail and extortion, and theirs were 3-4 times higher than mine!
