I just got back from flying all day, NY/NO/TX. Ask me anything,
but I recommend you don't if you can avoid it for awhile. I'm grounding myself!

1. Did your shampoo explode?
Because I am taking all liquids and gels out of my house and dumping them in the street. Let the bomb squad take care of it, I don't want to take a chance.

:eyes: I recall an expression, you can't get the paste back in the tube. Can anything else be put in there?

3. Clusterfuck-check. Pissed-check, me in particular.
My DH booked a ticket on line, w/2 airlines. The first airline wouldn't put a sticker on my bag all the way through so I couldn't check the bag w/the liquids because I'd miss my connection. Ergo, I was one of the many that had to dump all the liquids, AND solids (deodorant and chapstick, for cryin' out loud! :banghead:)

It was a ZOO!

Hi, AZDD6! :pals: It's nice to be home, is all I can say.

6. All that stuff especially cosmetics are expensive too.
Maybe y'all should list the items, what they cost and send the bill to the White House.

bomb scares. Glad you made it home with most of your sanity and humor intact.

8. NO wasn't IN my plans, but unavoidable. And when
the news hit Thursday, I was already away from home, so had no choice. But I would have flown anyway if I had plans, me and everyone else! ;)

26. And, I'm flying on Tuesday.
This whole fake terror shit sucks! This will be my last flight I'll be taking to any where. From now on, I'm either taking train or drive. I can understand UK is on high alert, however, what they've done is way out of line. This is all about, controlling the public and that's it!

32. Good luck.
I looked at the train and thought about driving, but neither is practical for me.
You're right, this is really going to suck.

12. I have dry-eye syndrome. No way I can fly without drops.
My eyes are even dryer after having Lasik. Is there anyway around this, like with a note/prescription from a doctor?

16. Get a prescription from your doctor, and a note that says it is essential
...that you carry it with you.

18. Yes, get a note from your doc. Diabetics who take insulin were
being allowed to bring their meds; I would think the same would apply.

We'll see I guess.

29. If there's no way you can fly w/o drops, it's threatening to your eyes
and you. The folks checking do not care; as long as you have a doc saying you "need" them, I don't see how they could argue. If worst comes to worst, take a swig to assure them it's not bomb-inducing.

13. glad you're back home and can relax!
Airports always make me uptight, and I figure I'd better avoid them too, for awhile.

One of my co-workers was supposed to fly out of Heathrow yesterday (with his wife and 3-month-old). I haven't heard whether they made it onto their flight yet.

20. Glad you are home safe. If you had to dump new stuff
you might be able to buy it back on Ebay. No kidding.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/TRAVEL/08/11/terror.passengers.ap/index.html

People who had to dump expensive perfumes or bottles of wine may find them on Ebay. Chances are, though, the screeners took it home.

They must be really worried about the liquids. /sarcasm
