Who came up with the dehydration argument?
As far as I can tell (from what I read and from having taken a plane on Thursday), after you go through security at the airport you can buy drinks at the kiosks and go on the plane (I even went through the second check at the gate with a bottle of water in my hand). So...

1. how many times are you going to repeat this untruth
Edited on Sat Aug-12-06 03:41 PM by pitohui
we all know that you got on a flight thursday morning before the new rule was rolled out at all airports, we all know that on thursday many airports still allowed you to purchase water in the shops after passing thru security

however, it will never be thursday, aug. 10, 2006 again

the rule for now is you are not allowed to take any water purchased in the shops on the plane

sheesh

so you are wrong and not up to date so stop repeating stale information

thank you!

NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY-ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency.
Exception: Baby formula and breast milk if a baby or small child is traveling; prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket; and insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines

Beverages purchased in the sterile area must be consumed before boarding because they will not be permitted onboard the aircraft.

Passengers traveling from the U.K. to the U.S. will be subject to a more extensive screening process.

3. Finally a link.
I'll still take my water. They have no detectors at the gate. I'll throw it away if they find it.

6. It is fair to say that there is much confusion
And that airports may be somewhat flexible on the drinks bought AFTER security.

8. Good point.
ALso, I bring my bottle because I hate being stuck with plastic glasses for an hour before they take it back. I need the table to work on my laptop... And I hate drinking bubbles on a plane...
