I hate the phrase the new normal

Everywhere on the news for the past fews days from local to national, whenever they talk of the latest bunch of setup incomps and the restrictions placed on travelers, "THE NEW NORMAL".
Fuck that noise, it's not normal and certainly not new, it sounds like a talkong point they've had in the can and just waited for the opportunity to use it.
I don't fly, haven't for years, but, I hope that people who do fly call bullshit on this.

1. They are creating a new norm - strange that they would state it plainly

like that though. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone will call bullshit. These folks (not necessarily the media, but the think tank types that run your government) know how to control the masses. Most people will follow whatever they're told is the norm, it's their instinct, and it's about survival and the sonzabitches know it.

2. Not strange at all. Consider this quote from back in December, 2004

attributed to an unnamed senior adviser to Bush:

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

3. True. It's just that when deploying crowd controlling psychological

techniques you don't generally say, "we're going to be changing your perceptions today". They are bold as brass about their actions, though, so I should not be surprised.
