Is there ever going to be a "Reality Based" twenty four hour news channel?

Are liberals ever going to provide an alternative to the Corporate Media? Do we really have any chance to fix things if there is not a network more dedicated to Truth? Where are the Progressive Billionaires? Are there any? Why don't the put up an alternative? Is it now impossible? Is the internet the only alternative, because many won't get on it. Please, Mr. Gates.....put a couple billion into a news channel that can save the planet!

It shouldn't exist, it is nothing more than a propaganda tool for brain washing the masses. People were better informed before it was invented. Something called MSNBC (that's where the "MS" comes from).

But Microsoft is basically a non-entity at MSNBC these days, having sold much of their stake back to NBC. They have little say over there, as far as I know. I've heard rumors they will eventually rebrand as just "NBC News".

The latest hire by the cable news network MSNBC-- co-owned by General Electric/NBC and Microsoft-- is Michael Savage, a radio talkshow host noted for his unabashed bigotry. Savage is scheduled to have his own weekly one-hour show on MSNBC beginning in March.

Savage routinely refers to non-white countries as "turd world nations" and charges that the U.S. "is being taken over by the freaks, the cripples, the perverts and the mental defectives" (San Francisco Bay Guardian, 9/20/00). In a recent broadcast he justified ethnic slurs as a national security tool: "We need racist stereotypes right now of our enemy in order to encourage our warriors to kill the enemy," he explained (San Francisco Chronicle, 2/6/03).
