1. The priveleged rich DO NOT fly commercial airlines.
Do you really think they give a flying a fuck about some poor schlock that has to fly every week for work or has to book a commercial flight for vacation plans?

It's all show.

3. That is exactly what I am trying to say. There will be less targets in
the air, less debris on our heads.

5. Meh, you have to be at least this rich to fly at all.
It's one of those things where there is rich and then there is mega rich, then there is poor, then there is Rockingham/poverty. It pretty much depends on who sees who as rich. I see what you are saying though. The super rich fly in private jets and such, but many of us have never flown and couldn't afford to if we wanted to. It no big deal.

9. The privilege of flying !
When i was a kid i remember going to Dallas Love field, and just hanging out all day. It was like a carnival, they had new cars sitting in the terminal and all kinds of displays, it was really fun for kid.

But the most noticeable thing were all the rich folks, i'm talking Texas rich. Mink coats, dressed with their finest cloths i remember woman having their help carry their luggage, not sky caps their employees.

The rub was only the rich could fly in this country, everyone took the bus (Greyhound). How things have changed, go to the airport today and you'll see people of all stripes flying the friendly skies.

Just an observation about how things have changed in this country in the past 45 years, and the gap between the haves and the rest of us.

17. Yeah, you make an excellent point.
I guess it depends on where someone lives and where they want to fly whether or not they can afford it. All in all, the rich do fly like it's no big deal, while the poor may save up for vacation to fly once a year or something to that effect.

bullshit they have once again created.

23. No I meant we'll get back to the days of only the rich flying.
The rest of us will have to walk since they defunded the railway system and bus system.

2. The privileged rich already fly in a class unaffected by FAA restrictions:

private planes/corporate jets.
(Unaffected by the Homeland Security restrictions on carryon luggage and not subject to cavity searches, Xrays, metal detectors, having guns pointed at them for every flight they go on)
If they had to travel the same way you do, this shit wouldn't be happening.

6. I say lets develop better train technology... such as in Europe.
If I'm on vacation, then I get to see more of America, rather than flying over it. and I can plan stops in between my destination to check out sites. As it is the train transport in America sucks. If I was taking my children on vacation I would hate to fly... try cramping a 2yr old on a flight for 2 or 3 hrs with no movement other than hopping up and down in the seat and kicking the back of the other seat and throwing crackers all over the place. Lets develop better transit within larger cities so that it is possible to maneuver a city without relying on rent-a-car syndrome. Let businessmen have the skies. I'd rather see America and meet the real people who make America.

10. hmmm... last time I looked the tax money collected in America was ours.
So, its time to put people in Washington who are willing to do what it takes to make sure its not spent on stupidity. We went to a war based on no taxation without representation. We are almost back to that original thought. And $2600 is not that much per person to be behind. Cut the war b.s. out and the medicaid help the rich pharmaceutical companies out and we'd save a lot.

A bomb on a train is still bad.

8. wtf?
I resent that remark. Nobody deserves to die. :grr:
You could say my sister was 'well off'.
She worked her ass off for her money and retirement.
She has to fly for her new consulting business.
She flew all over the world, for her job,
before she retired and started her own company.
Does she deserve to die?

in the sky, they will be harder to hit. :sarcasm:

13. I'm not rich, but I certainly have to fly sometimes
If I want to see my mother, sister, brother, ect.... I have to hop on a plane.

I just drove to go see my mother in Georgia (thinking it would save me money), but the gas made it more expensive.

Even if I was filthy rich, it doesn't make me a bad person who is expendable
