Fear and Smear

Republicans are very good at this, in fact it is their MO and Democrats are going to be smeared in every way conceivable but Democrats will not be afraid, we are Americans, and we will not let other Americans be afraid either. Democrats will keep America safe as we did throughout the fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties. Under Democratic leadership America slept peacefully. Democrats are strong advocates of Law Enforcement and Intelligence Agencies. Have been consistent on this forever. Democrats are very strong on "first responder" elements as well. We support strongly Fire Departments and Police Departments and as evidence we supported Clinton's "Hundred Thousand Cops on the Street" program. These were all first responders and important community assets. Crime went down drastically under Clinton. First thing Republicans did when they took power was to cut this program. Democrats have been demanding money to protect our ports, our infrastructure, our water sources, nuclear plants and our chemical factories. Republicans would rather the money be spent on war. It was not killing people in Iraq that foiled this latest terror attempt, it was Intelligence and Law Enforcement, a Democratic strong suit. Remember how Republicans scoffed at Kerry when he mentioned we should be focusing on this as a Law Enforcement Problem? Law Enforcement kept America safe not killing people in Iraq. America does not need to live in fear and Democrats will not tolerate it. This is America the home of the brave. Democrats will keep America safe just as they always have and will not compromise any of our Constitutional Rights doing it. Under Democratic Leadership America prospers and we enjoy the respect and admiration of other nations. As we all know this is not the case under Republican leadership. So the question is does America want to once again sleep well at night or does the nightmare continue. Vote Democratic for a Safe and Secure America

2. The simple message is the Republicans are incompetent

to run foreign policy-Iraq, Afghanistan, and now the newest war Lebanon
They have failed to secure an energy policy to disengage from a region that supports terrorism-GOP stands for the -the GREAT OIL PARTY.
They cut homeland security money from NEW YORK-a target of the present attacks.
Violent crime is on the rise due to the failure of the federal government to protect the homeland.
The military is having problems meeting recruiting goals-our armed services risk being the "hollow army"of pre war France in 1939-49.
democrats can stabilize spending-as President Eisenhower said "a bankrupt nation is a defenseless nation". we are becoming a bankrupt nation.
New Orleans was at its heart a failure of the federal government to protect its people from disaster-more incompetence which shamed our country before the world and made us look weak.

Americans appeal to hope and risk-the GOP portrays failure and fear to the country and the world making us less safe.
