Lamont called 'the al qaeda candidate' on CNN
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 11:47 PM by cynatnite
Today on CNN Headline News, anchor Chuck Roberts discussed the impact of the foiled British terror plot with Hotline senior editor John Mercurio. Roberts asked Mercurio, “How does this factor into the Lieberman/Lamont contest? And might some argue, as some have, that Lamont is the al Qaeda candidate?”

Reading it pissed me off enough. A video clip is available for all to watch. I've already fired off a blistering email to CNN. I hope others follow suit. This is outrageous. :grr:

2. If anything, Bush is the Al-Quada candidate
He has done pretty much everything Bin Laden wanted. "Some might say" is journalist weasel talk.

3. Contact info?
Can you provide me a link or an email address so I can fire off a nasty letter to them. Nice, unbiasted, journalism they have over on CNN now-a-days...

7. There are 3 ways Republicans are going to try and spin Lamont's victory.
Edited on Sat Aug-12-06 12:04 AM by Clarkie1
All of course are lies, but we need to be prepared:

1. It shows Dems are weak on national security.

2. It shows that Dems are bitterly partisan and reject candidates willing to be bi-partisan.

3. It shows that the Democratic party is divided and without direction or leadership.

It would be wise for all of us to thoughtfully consider how to stop their spin, because the spin is already going in full force. They are going to twist the Lamont victory for all it's worth to them...in the end though, I think it's a sign of the beginning of the end for them because it shows how much people are engaged against their policies.

Edited for spelling.

8. "some have said..."
Might CNN, as some have said, be a right-wing mouthpiece vying for last place in the accuracy race with FOX?

I think I heard that somewhere!

12. This is the memo that the RNC is sending out to its members:
Dear ******,

In politics, there are turning points that can define a political party for decades to come. Yesterday's defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman in the Democrat primary in Connecticut is such a moment. Because he stood for a strong national defense and victory in Iraq, Joe Lieberman was successfully targeted for defeat.

For a political party to reject a respected Senator who just six years ago was its candidate for Vice President is virtually without precedent. It speaks volumes about the new Democrat Party: if you stand for a strong defense and victory in the War on Terror, you have no place in the party and you must be purged.

Watch the video and get the facts about what this means about the decline of the Democrat Party - from leadership that would "pay any price, bear any burden" to defend freedom to leaders who want to cut and run from the War on Terror, and surrender other tools needed to keep America safe.

The message from Connecticut is clear, and Ned Lamont isn't alone. He is joined by Rep. John Murtha, architect of the Democrats' position on Iraq and the man who wants to be the next House Majority Leader, who claims America is more dangerous than Iran and North Korea and says, "We've become the enemy." And by Howard Dean, who calls the idea of victory in Iraq "just plain wrong." Watch how the new Democrat Party always chooses weakness over strength, blaming America first.

With 90 days to go before the election, National Democrat leaders have made their choice in favor of defeatism, isolationism, and blaming America first. Where do you stand?

Sincerely,

Ken Mehlman
