BREAKING NEWS: Sen. Lieberman Creates New Party, Loses Primary:
In a stunning turn of events, the recently ousted Senator Joseph Lieberman - who broke away from the Democratic party after losing in the primary to his challenger Ned Lamont - has subsequently failed to gain his new party's nomination. Senator Lieberman had declared himself an Independent shortly after his upset defeat earlier this week, and indicated that he would be running in the November General Election as and Independent Democrat. In an unfortunate twist, the Senator has lost his second primary bid this week. During a private primary vote at his newly founded party's convention, held at the Senator's home in Connecticut, he failed to gain the nomination of his new party. Voting took place Thursday evening and consisted of the Senator, his wife, and well, that's about it. Accepting the nomination for the party was the Lieberman's paperboy, Kenny Finklestein.

"I just felt that Kenny would be the best candidate for the party," Mrs. Lieberman stated after the vote, "He embodies the heart and soul that we need in our representative this Fall. Frankly, I'm getting tired of the whole Joe-Mentum thing anyway."

It turns out that Senator Lieberman was busy talking to Sean Hannity on FOX News and forgot to cast his vote.

The Senator could not be reached for comment.

We now return you to you regularly scheduled programming. This has been satire for those who might not have been paying attention.

Good night and get out! :)
