Jesse Jackson testifies he never threatened conservative minister

LOS ANGELES - The Rev. Jesse Jackson denied on the witness stand Thursday that he threatened or encouraged violence against a conservative black minister who claims in a lawsuit that he was roughed up by Jackson's son during a 2001 confrontation in Southern California.

The Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, filed the lawsuit against Jackson alleging assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit also names Jackson's son Jonathan Jackson, who is accused of battery and false imprisonment.
