"We're fighting them over there so...?"
I haven't been online much today, so I don't know if this has been discussed. It seems to me that today's events should prove the total lack of logic for the invasion and occupation of Iraq. I know that logic doesn't figure into decision making anymore in this country, but how could anyone believe that a military action has anything to do with preventing the kind of attack that's been described by British intelligence? From the beginning, some of us have said that good international police work would be far more effective in bringing UBL and Al-Qaeda to justice and wouldn't cost trillions that could otherwise be spent on borders, ports, chemical/nuclear plants, etc. Doesn't this plot prove that fighting them over there has virtually nothing to do with keeping us safe?

3. We are fighting them over there because that is what OBL wants.
He doesn't want to fight us on our turf...but his. Which is the Middle East. The thing is to prolong the war until we bankrupt.

Shrubbie always gives bud osama what he wants.

4. As KO pointed out tonight
blivet** said today that we should never doubt that the US is in danger. Of course, he had no script infront of him today, so he forgot that we were fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here.

6. Finally a voice of logic and rationality

This is how the terrorist will be defeated. Another reason this show how utterly Bushco's administration has totally screwed up this war on "terra", is if they had stayed on OBL's tail and crushed al-qaeda instead of invading Iraq, it would have put a big dent in terrorist activities.
