Why would a suicidal terrorist refuse to 'taste' a bit of "baby" milk?
Even if it was some other fluid, a small taste likely wouldn't hurt you significantly - at least not enough to keep you from committing suicide (and murdering others) an hour or so later.
Somehow, in light of everything else, I don't see how allowing the "tasting of baby's milk" makes any sense at all.

3. Without a doubt if it would help their cause. If it was a baby boy, he'd

get the 40 virgins, or whatever the number is, as well. People who are doing this aren't thinking the way an average person would - extremists never do. Kidnapping a stranger's child would work, but I'll bet some would be willing to use their own.

Lots of car-jackers in the US do this without any thought to there being children in the car.

2. It's absurd. Forcing people to taste a beverage

...won't make us safer, because a terrorist trying to blow up a plane he'll be on can taste that liquid no matter what it is.

5. For the most part, yes. But...
I've heard that acetone was one of the components reportedly to be used by the guys arrested. If you ever put acetone in or near your mouth, your body rejects it instantly and violently. Other than ethanol, I'm guessing that the body's reaction to most flammables would be similar.

6. Not correct. We're talking a tablespoon - and probably a teaspoon.
And baby's milk bottles could be engineered to store the flammable liquid separate from the milk and security would be unlikely to know unless they had you empty the entire bottle.

7. A terrorist willing to blow himself up in a few hours
would NEVER drink poison which might kill him in 12 hours.

Remember, your body is your temple/bomb...don't abuse your body/bomb

8. The reports tonight suggest that
there was an agent who infiltrated the group. What annoys me in all this is that while some group may or may not have been plotting (Skepticism v cynicism), the level of inconvenience meted out to the public across the globe today(not to mention the expense related to throwing out personal effects) was completely unnecessary. Afterall they said they had thwarted the plot so why all this bullshit and inconvenience. What's up with that because I don't get it. Where do people get back the money wasted by throwing out all sorts of personal stuff.

9. Think of the expensive perfumes that had to be thrown away.
You can bet someone is making money from all of this! It's called first class "dumpster diving.

10. Because later, the screener...
...can do "stuff" to himself in the mens room while fantisizing a "hot mom" drinking her own milk...other than that,I can think of no opaque white odorless chemical ever implicated in an aviation loss.
