1. That's the problem... War on Terror is coined word to help
destabilize the modern world and by fear allow the govt to take powers away from a democracy. Focus on why does the ME hate us. It in our policies pertaining to the region. Fix the problems within the area with talks and trade policies that make sense. The war on terror is a hoax. There is a great old saying "where there is a will, there is a way." You will not stop someone determined to do harm. You stop one, there are 3 to take his place.

3. I haven't seen or heard any of them mention the Why of terrorism
all things have a reason, if it is a bad thing find out what the reason is then correct that and everyone is happy. The terrorist don't hate us for the sake of hating us they hate us for a reason.

US Democrats say plot shows Iraq war a diversion

WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Prominent Democrats said on Thursday a foiled plot in Britain to blow up U.S.-bound planes showed the Bush administration's pursuit of war in Iraq had diverted resources from the bigger threat of terrorism and made the danger worse.

...

"Five years after 9-11, it is clear that our misguided policies are making America more hated in the world and making the war on terrorism harder to win," Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts said.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada said Bush and Congress needed to change course in Iraq and ensure Americans are protected around the world.

"The Iraq war has diverted our focus and more than $300 billion in resources from the war on terrorism and has created a rallying cry for international terrorists," Reid said.

4. That should be our message!
-- that bumper sticker and that article!

The Republican Party led by George Bush has gotten complacent in fighting the war on terror.

5. To me, "diversion" isn't a strong enough word
The Iraq War isn't just a diversion, it is making our country less safe. It is making the whole damn world less safe. It is having just the opposite effect that Bush has said that it is. (IMHO)

6. That's another key message
Are we safer today? Looking at the crisis in the Middle East, what voter could continue with the GOP?

7. This country is safer than it was prior to 9/11
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/08/20060810-3.html

"This country is safer than it was prior to 9/11. We've taken a lot of measures to protect the American people. But obviously, we're still not completely safe, because there are people that still plot and people who want to harm us for what we believe in. It is a mistake to believe there is no threat to the United States of America."

So why did you take your eye off the ball by going into Iraq, DUH!
