If your spouse cheated and lied incessantly would you STILL trust them?

Lets' say your significant other has cheated and lied to you and you caught them, several times. You are still with them for what ever reason, it's your house too damn it and you can't afford another one. If your partner lied to you incessantly and you knew it, would you trust them the next time they insisted they weren't lying to you? Or would you just believe them because it's convenient, you can't believe they would lie about this, this time is different, etc. I believe that is called enabling.

married woman. As a result of his helping someone betray their marital vows I trust him less than I did before I found out about this tryst. He says he didn't want to be like his dad, who was a womanizer according to him. Yet, I assume he is a womanizer.

No - once lied to, the trust factor is no longer a consideration.

It depends to some extent how severe the lie was. Marital infidelity, no trust. Starting a war against a sovereign nation, no trust.

But it sounds like the situation isn't about the lying anymore. It's about convenience. Is this a convenient thing to do by leaving? Well, where would I go. That's a valid concern. But it's better to start over, if one can, than stay and be miserable and unsure. Enablers are not healthy people.
