Wow! Some Republicans are STILL racist:
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 02:57 PM by originalpckelly
Republican hate speech is starting to rise once again:
"Cynthia McKinney gets movie offer

I heard she was offered a role in the next planet of the apes movie. She would save the producers a fortune since she wouldn't need makeup."

http://www.perspectives.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=111591&forum_id=4

UPDATE: I did change it, it is wrong to imply all Republicans are racists. Some are, despite what they may tell you.

1. Damn. They are pigs over on that board. One of the mods replied
to that post (instead of deleting it entirely) "how can you see the screen with that hood on" and I did get a chuckle out of that. But he got flamed.

Perspectives must be the new code word for "racist's r-us."

2. Seriously, this is NEW...
they didn't start acting so bad until a few months ago. That is scary, it is like they are being filled up with hate. It is a recent development (at least there.)

3. Its the new racism. They consider themselves
to be non-racist because they support minorties who think and act exactly like conservative white people.

All those other minorities? They are just barbaric.

5. Well, THAT would be ethnocentrism...
A lot of problems are caused on DU and elsewhere when people confuse the two. The GOP likes racial minorities who share their culture and ideas, but not those who don't. Ethnocentrism.

7. I consider it to be racism, because they only reason
they even accept minorities who think and act like they do is beacause they have been shamed into doing so.

Its too embarassing now for them to hate all blacks and all hispanics. Most places I've seen someone spout out blatently racist shit like that, they get busted for it by complete strangers.

They can't function in society with overtly racist views.

So they have learned to tolerate the ones who at least kiss their ass.

4. Give me a break.
An obscure website has a guy make a stupid comment and it makes all republicans racist?

Seriously, I don't agree with a majority of republican ideals, but I'm getting sick and tired of all the division I'm seeing created on both sides of the spectrum.

8. Who cares what Boortz says, he is an idiot.
I think we all know that. He doesn't represent all Republicans as Micheal Moore doesn't represent all Democrats.

11. You totally failed to realize the premise of my statement.
I said neither represents their respective parties in entirety, not even closely. I didn't compare quotes.

If you think Micheal Moore hasn't done some stupid stuff to misrepresent things, than you and I will disagree on a lot of things.

15. Interesting comparison, is what I meant
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 03:04 PM by FredScuttle
What has Michael Moore misrepresented? I'd like to hear one statement by Michael Moore that is as outrageous as this statement by Neal Boortz:

"If you are a grown adult in this country who is not suffering from some hideous physical or mental disability, and you are trying to raise children on the minimum wage, then you are a 100 percent pure unadulterated loser. And I am so sick and damned tired of all those left-wing bedwetters and sympathy pimps out there -- passing -- just moaning over these people who have squandered their American birthright by becoming just the dregs of society-- and then -- I'm just so sick of it I could scream."

Why would you equate Michael Moore and Neal Boortz?

21. Well, I'll just name one since I detested it.
He added text that matched the font and color of an Ad he had in one of his movies to make it look like the guy in the ad said the words.

If Mr. Moore wants to have any respect from me he will just say the truth. I don't care to be misled by a Republican, Democrat, Independetn, etc.

Its this type of crud that tears down bridges and I'm getting very tired of it from both parties. And yes I consider Boortz to be doing the same thing. Read above, I know he is an idiot.

29. Well, there you have it
Michael Moore's editing of a '88 Bush-Quayle ad from a four-year-old film is a moral outrage equivalent in disgust and relevance to Neal Boortz calling millions of working poor "morons" on a national radio show one week ago. :sarcasm:

I won't even get into Boortz's disgusting remarks about Muslims and Katrina victims. If you think Boortz and Moore are equal, I don't think you're playing with a full deck.

12. Rush Limbaugh, Neil Boortz, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity..
and many more don't represent the ENTIRE republican party. But the majority of the neanderthals will quickly tell you they represent their views and speak for them.

The poster was wrong to imply all were racist, but he was only off by an infinitesimal number.

Even if an individual is not a racist, what's difference if you spend time and money to support those who are?

Maybe the poster was right after all.... They are all racist, homophobic - xenophobes.

14. The same case can be made about Dems.
Just look at Senator Byrd or even Cynthia McKinneys father. They don't represent me nor does making a claim that all are racist help anything.

I see so much preaching about how devisive the Republicans are and see so many people disregarding their own actions.

Hell, how does he equal Trent Lott? Why are you trying so hard to say Democrats are equally as racist and divisive as Republicans?

17. I'm not saying Democrats or Repubs are devisive.
I'm saying there are people in both parties who accuse the others of being devisive when their own actions are doing the same thing.

Senator Byrd has made more racist comments that Trent Lott btw.

18. Let's hear them then
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 03:15 PM by FredScuttle
I'm all ears.

on edit - let me save you the trouble:

"They are much, much better than they've ever been in my lifetime," Byrd said. "I think we talk about race too much. I think those problems are largely behind us ... I just think we talk so much about it that we help to create somewhat of an illusion. I think we try to have good will. My old mom told me, 'Robert, you can't go to heaven if you hate anybody.' We practice that. There are white niggers. I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time. I'm going to use that word. We just need to work together to make our country a better country, and I'd just as soon quit talking about it so much"

-Sen. Robert Byrd, Fox News interview, 3/4/01

I've stated that clearly. I'm just tired of every just bickering at every little damned thing a republican says and making overwhelming generalizations.

My god, can't we just start debating issues?

28. Then why do you????
people are also tired of republicans being defended by the BS "Democrats are just as bad".

There are racist dems, and every time one expose him/herself, he gets pummeled. What you are defending is the actions of the repubs who defend, and attempt to justify their members spouting overt racism.

27. a majority of them are....
and they are because they will refuse to denounce anything that this administration does no matter how wrong and they will admit it. When they say liberal, farleft or non mainstream americans that is code for blacks, hispanics, muslims, gays and others who are non white or who will not conform to white culture. This country has a majority of races and I don't see how they expect all to give up certain customs and ways of worship to follow the ways of the majority of the government which happens to be white males.

10. And I guess McKinney isn't racist?
McKinney has the Black Panther Party supporting her. And Tuesday night there was a scuffle outside her HQ where some of her supporters were screaming out some very racist remarks.

It also isn't a secret that McKinney's father hates Jews.

13. Well ya know, if anyone has a reason to be angry it's people who were
brought to a country as slaves and have had to fight for every inch of freedom that they have.

To try and deny them the freedom to feel anger at being enslaved is unrealistic.

Get over it - black people have a real reason not to trust white folks.

I have a hard time finding any reason why white folks should fear black folks though.
