Poll question: So if America gets attacked again, will Bush get another pass?
It seems to me that with Bush's lack of a real security policy that there are openings for us to get hit again and hit hard.

My question is, if we DID get hit and lost another 3,000 people or whatever, how will average people react?

Will they unite behind Bush again and say that Bush is doing his best but they will always try to attack us so it was inevitable anyway?

or will they finally blame Bush knowing this country is not only NOT safer than pre-911 but rather in more danger than ever before?

I know it will take jagoff Republicans mere seconds to spin another attack as a result of Democrats hindering their ability to keep us safe, but I am curious how average Americans and the media will react.

What do you think...

Does Bush get another pass?

them - but we can't foil them all.", declare martial law and buh bye officially to the Constitution.

Edited to add they will blame those who stood up to them to defend the Constitution and say we hindered them from foiling it. You got that right. Snow already said a vote for Lamont was a vote for another 9/11.

2. needs a 'possibly' choice
It's pretty hard to yes or no that one. Depending on the circumstances involved, it could go either way.

The white house owns the media, especially TV "news".
The majority of the American people disapprove of the current administration, but you'd never guess it by watching MSM television.

8. Well that would be a result of the action
but ultimately the American people will have an opinion on why the attack occurred and that's what I want to poll on. For some Martial Law might be justified, they would vote Yes in this poll obviously. There are many sheep out there that keep believing that the Bush way is the right way. The media also seems to agree.

7. Afraid so....
People will be so freaked out and the Republicans are so excellent at their propaganda, that Bush might just wind up with a free pass to do whatever he wanted.

Remember, 50%+ of us here in the US think Saddam had WMDs and 9/11 connection.

10. Yes, because,
as everyone KNOWS, Democrats are soft of national security. Think how much worse it would be if a Democrat had been the President, everybody makes mistakes. Etc, etc, etc.

11. No, it was our meddling in the MidEast that spawned terrorism
to begin with. Only idiots believe that the bushadmin's behaviour since 9/11 has reduced the threat of terrorism.

12. I think if America gets hit again, that will be IT for Bush.
He's told us to trust him.

He's told us we're safer with Republicans in charge.

He's told us we're fighting them over there so we don't have to over here.

He's spent BILLIONS of dollars fighting terrorism.

Another attack here in the U.S., and that will be it for him. The effect may not be immediate, there might be an initial show of support, like after 9/11, but that will wane quickly and people will start asking tough questions that should have been asked after 9/11.

And we'll know that two major terrorist attacks on American soil happened under his watch. And he'll likely be off doing something stupid at the time...

14. I only wish..
But I fear that America has sleepwalked through everything else and might just do it here. Hell we knew he had intel a month before the attacks implicating how, where and who might attack us before 9/11 and somehow there was barely any mainstream outrage at all.

15. If it's big enough 80%+ of the nation will cower and cry for daddy to save
them. A pass? He'll get a blank check. I don't think 3,000 will to it, though. Maybe 10,000, or 100,000, a whole city that would do the trick. I don't see anything smaller. It would be like spitting in the wind.

18. What's it matter? He's not running in 2008.
Besides, what was the one and only event that had a positive impact on the Bush Presidency in the last 6 years? No doubt they and their corporate media are well prepared to recapture some of that magic if there is another event like 9/11.

20. He'll always get a pass, unfortunately.
Saying anything to him or even censuring him would be like picking on a slow kid, or so many people seem to think. I say impeach him now. He could murder someone on live television and get a pass at this point, unfortunately.
