What we know
Let's take this latest attempt to have a terror attack at face value.
Let's assume it is real.

First of all - congrat's to all those hard working officials who thwarted a possible attack.
Secondly - we should acknowledge that police actions work. I am going to say it again - police actions work.
Thirdly - we should also acknowledge that invading nations, fomenting violence, creating instability where there was none, killing innocent civilians does NOT lessen the threat of terrorism.

See how easy it is?
Police actions work.
War does not.

6 years of fighting, invading and occupying two nations has NOT lessened the threat of catastrophic terrorist attacks. Only committed police actions actually stop the threat.

They told us in the run up to the Iraq war that police actions were not enough to stop the violence. They told us we were naive to think such a thing. And we said they were inflating the threat to justify another agenda. They got their way - invaded anyways....and their war has changed nothing. And now they are using this as a litmus test as an indication that the threat of terrorism is real. We never denied it. We do however question their actions and reactions regarding terrorism. This is a failure of Bush policies. Today proved it beyond any doubt.
