Here it is, noon, and not one word of any news except "The Plot."
Nothing. No politics, no war, no kidnapped blonde girls, no boxing kittens, no nothing. Over and over and over and over, TERRA! is on a continuous loop.

SURPRISE!

And in six hours, there hasn't been a single new bit of information revealed. Just Blather, Rinse, Repeat.

1. Hey, but no one is talking about how the American people are about
to take their government back from the criminals who have kidnapped democracy and freedom. So, all is well... :eyes:

3. My prediction for the day:
Within three years, we'll all be shuffling toward our flights wearing orange jumpsuits and paper shoes, hands on our heads, clutching nothing but our RFID cards and a few bucks in cash. But we'll be safe, and it'll all be thanks to BushCo.

4. Maybe no more carry-ons and luggage sent on seperate planes.
Pick it up when you get there. Full body searches of everyone before every flight.

9. I doubt they'd send luggage on separate planes...
...because it would increase the cost of travel enormously. Many airlines are only marginally profitable as it is. Also, airlines have a history of passing on any inconvenience directly to the passenger.

I agree about the full body searches, which means that they'll start demanding we turn up for our flights five hours in advance.

If we're forced to check-in laptops and phones, the economic impact will be huge because many people simply won't carry them anymore. No travel insurance will cover high value items carried in the hold and companies will soon get sick of replacing broken and stolen equipment. The impact on business travelers will be large.

The pipeline will be down until next year!

13. No domestic news on CNN.
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 12:13 PM by chill_wind
Nothng about the resignations at the DOD aimed at containment as the Cunningham/MZM stain continues to ooze and spread....

No coverage on the plan that contnues to shape up to rewrite the laws to protect the Bush admin for executive abuses/law breaking/war crimes charges under the aegis of TWOT while we are focused elsewhere....

No mention of the returning threat to privatize social security...

Nothing about the Lebanese Oil Spill that could rival Exxon Valdez disaster...

Feel free to add greatly to the list.

And just for fun, who was that so-called terrorist expert guy Henry Shuster? I saw two different titles scrawling under his interview "analysis" earlier this am. One said "CNN Investigative Unit." The other briefly said "CNN, Senior Producer".

Just asking.

Please K&R this thread. We are watching some very diabolical crap today unfolding at new heights.

19. I'm looking for info on the Cunningham/MZM/CIFA stain
I saw something on C-span's ticker about one of the contractors??? I didn't quite catch it.

Here's one current article from rolling stone:

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/9962459/the_pentagons_new_spies

Ever since 1878, when the Posse Comitatus Act barred the U.S. military
from taking part in law enforcement, the responsibility for domestic security has traditionally resided with the police and the FBI. The Defense Department, for the most part, has been confined to protecting U.S. military bases. But shortly after September 11th, the Pentagon began muscling in on the FBI's turf. In 2002, in a move that received little public attention, the Bush administration created Counterintelligence Field Activity and charged the new agency with consolidating all Pentagon intelligence to "protect DOD and the nation against espionage, other intelligence activities, sabotage, assassinations and terrorist activities."

The agency got another boost last year when a commission appointed by Bush urged that CIFA be empowered to collect and analyze intelligence "both inside and outside the United States." Three of the commission's consultants, it turns out, were employees of MZM -- one of CIFA's primary contractors -- and federal prosecutors are now looking into whether Pentagon personnel have committed crimes in steering CIFA contracts to MZM. Nevertheless, the president agreed last October to significantly broaden the agency's mission, giving it the authority to actually direct military intelligence operations. From a small unit designed as a clearinghouse for reports, CIFA was transformed overnight into a major arm of domestic intelligence. Both its budget and its staff, thought to be in excess of 1,000 people, are classified. <end>

You'd think the military spying on citizens would be newsworthy.

20. Good find and thank you donkeyotay.
The criminal sleaze here just oozes and bubbles barely perceptibly under the surface and has yet to erupt for what it all means. MZM appears to have tentacles that go straight to the WH. NOBODY but a certain few blogs and the rare occasional print MSM appears to have noticed.

YET.

Good informative threads, just to name a few:

21. Thanks for the links
This story isn't going away. The Union-Tribune reporters and Copley News Service did some great background research (and broke this story as far as I know). These early articles provided some tie-in with Porter Goss gosling Foggo. I believe Goss was also on the committee with Cunningham before the disaster monkey thought he could do more damage at the CIA.

<snip>
Born in San Diego County in 1954, Wilkes graduated from Hilltop High School in 1972, along with his football teammate and best friend Kyle Dustin "Dusty" Foggo, currently third-in-command at the Central Intelligence Agency. Wilkes and Foggo were roommates at San Diego State University, were best men at each other's weddings and named their sons after each other.

Wilkes' career in political relations dates to the early 1980s, shortly after Foggo joined the CIA. Foggo was sent to Honduras to work with the Contra rebels who were trying to topple the Sandinista government of Nicaragua, according to sources within the CIA.

17. The Media can only handle one story at a time nowadays.
It's extremely frustrating for those of us who are capable of holding more than one thought in our heads at any given time.

Recipients of "Leaks" May Be Prosecuted, Court Rules Updated at 6:37 PM

In a momentous expansion of the government's authority to regulate public disclosure of national security information, a federal court ruled that even private citizens who do not hold security clearances can be prosecuted for unauthorized receipt and disclosure of classified information.
