Lessons Learned from Today’s Terror News:
1)Police work foils Terror Plots: John Kerry was right!

2) The Brits invaded a total of ZERO foreign countries to stop the attack.

3) US Security Since 9-11 has not been improved. The methodology in this plot was the same from an Al Qaeda plot from the mid-90s, yet we still let bottles of liquids on flights.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/10/world/europe/09cnd-bojinka.html?hp&ex=1155268800&en=1e15bcb135378169&ei=5094&partner=homepage

4) Homeland Security blows. Why make incoming flights from the UK a Code Red threat if the plan is to blow up the planes before they reach the US? Wouldn’t any plane landing from the UK be, therefore by definition, not involved in the plot?

5) Bush is an idiot.*

*Ok… not really learned from today’s news, but I just thought I’d toss that in there.

22. hey!!!
I suck at house cleaning and decorating. I need professional help.

bad gay, bad!

Okay my ONE redeeming gay feature - my kitchen is magnificent. I can cook you any dang thing you want twenty different ways blindfolded with one eyeball tied behind my back, and I have LOTS of practice, plus did I mention I love to cook? I have three giant lazy susans to organize my spices and a freaking KUNG FU kitchen of awesomeness.

Lazy Susans 1 - 3:
1. "green" spices and herb blends from Anise to Toor Dahl
2. thickeners, exotics, peppers and pepper blends including mustards like Turmeric and Wasabi
3. baking and baking exotics, various cinnamons, cardamoms, mace family, etc. in various preparations.

and they're alphabetized. and I actually use them.

Yum!

I believe I'll be making a light golden curried chicken tonight over basmati with steamed snap beans; fresh halved plums and whole cherries for dessert.

9. Your point number one is key.
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 10:09 AM by MrModerate
Since 9/11, no terror plots have been disrupted through military action (unless you count Zarqawi, and I don't), but any number have been through good police work. Hundreds or thousands have been spawned in Iraq by the actions of our idiot leaders, and an uncounted number encouraged by the rage American actions have whipped up worldwide.

The "War on Terror" should never have been considered a war but a combination of police and social justice issue.

10. 6. The U.S. Knew About the Plot In Advance, Again.
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 10:11 AM by leveymg

U.S. Aware Of Plot For Days

Jim Axelrod spoke with Press Secretary Tony Snow about the U.S.'s involvement in the British investigation of the alleged terrorist plot. Snow says President Bush has been aware of the plot for days.

They also knew about the 9/11 plot for 18 months

It was planned at an al-Qaeda summit in Kuala Lumpur that was attended by Atta's roommate and the Flt. 77 hijackers. The CIA videotaped the whole thing and then followed the Flt 77 hijackers as they entered the US on 01/15/00 - the FBI liason at the CIA Counter-Terrorism Center was ordered not to send a cable about their entry to the FBI National Security Office in NY.

The Agency and a couple foreign intel agencies illegally monitored the plot inside the US without obtaining FISA warrants. For some reason we don't understand yet, that surveillance was relaxed enough in the late summer of 2001 so Atta and the gang could carry off the plot that the Agency had told the Bushites about much earlier. See the link below for all the details, citations, sources, links.

See, Scoop: UQ Wire: THE CRIMES OF 9/11 (Part 4)In early summer 2001 , US officials received numerous warnings from domestic and foreign intelligence agencies that al-Qaeda terrorists planned ...

26. 6. The whole CODE RED thing is a political ploy.
Sure, there may be something to this "foiled terrorist plot." Just because they are constantly pissing on our feet and telling us it's raining doesn't mean that it can't actually rain.

But that's not the real issue here. The issue is not whether or not this plot is as full of crap as the MIAMI SEVEN. The issue is] that the Bush administration has once again teamed with our breathless chicken little corporate media to hype a "TERRA TERRA TERRA" story to kingdom come for strictly political reasons.

Scotland Yard may or may not have caught a bunch of dangerous would-be terrorists, and the timing of this may or may not have been orchestrated to the day. But there is one thing we know for sure, and that is that BushCo yelling "CODE RED! CODE RED! CODE RED!" about this already foiled plot was and is a calculated PR gambit. And our corporate media is, once again, more than happy to play Charlie Brown to BushCo's "TERRA ALERT" Lucy football.

29. You forgot the biggest lesson of all from today
When your political future is in doubt, whip out the terror card. I know this was primarily a British operation - but who happens to be our biggest ally in this farcical "war on terror"? Isn't Tony Blair himself fighting for his political life?

How much you want to bet that after LIE-berman got beat this week, Cheney placed a call to British Intelligence?
