MAJOR TIN FOIL GOING ON HERE
I live in VA right on the edge of a base called CAMP PEARY. It is a CIA training base. Whenever there is military action of a certain scale, I hear explosions coming from that base.

The last time I heard them was a week or so before Israel/Hezbelloh. That was the first time I had heard them since 1991...when we started Desert Storm. I lived elsewhere in 2001, so I couldn't tell you if they could be heard before 9/11. I do not remember hearing them during any of the conflict in Bosnia. I have taken to documenting them now.

I just heard them last night at around 4:30-5PM eastern. These explosions do not come with any regularity, so I am not so quick to dismiss them as "routine training exercises".

How you wish to interpret this is entirely up to you, because obviously what really goes on at Camp Peary is above my pay grade. Bottom line: without fail, every time I hear these, sometime later world events take a military turn, and we're all up in it.

Oh and please don't bother chiding me about some BS conspiracy theory. I am simply stating what has come to pass each time I have heard the explosions before.

1. unlike many people, I will not chide you, but simply thank you for the
observations. I always wonder what the "boys" are up to, don't trust them for a moment.

3. I'd say relax, don't be so paranoid . . .
If your story hadn't unnerved me so much.

As we're in a mode of "there's NOTHING this administration wouldn't do to further its insane agenda and crackpot plans," rumblings like yours are can't really be dismissed.

4. I seem to have heard a LOT of flying exercises this morning
from Tinker. I usually don't notice the sound of military planes, having grown up near an AFB, but the noise was extended and seemed closer today. I have no idea what that means,if anything, just something I noticed.

5. There has been large scale activity in and around..
the Pentagon this week. I commute through there everyday. It is summer, and many people in theory should be on vacation, but there have been long lines at the checkpoints to get in, and there's lots of police activity. I also saw a plain clothes police officer with a bomb sniffing dog standing outside of a major office building in downtown D.C. today, which I normally don't see. I thought it was rather strange, and this is before I knew anything about the latest terrorist incident.

Could be nothing, could be something. But my spider senses always pick these things up.

9. I live in a small north Georgia town...
it is about 30 or 40 miles as the crow flies from a Ranger station. They occasionally do exercises here, but this morning there were a bunch of low flying planes going over the lake, ie below the radar. I haven't heard that many before. Several black helicopters were flying around a couple of weeks ago...a couple more this morning.

observations, facts, interesting connections. It is another to draw fast conclusions. You haven't done the latter. You observed and shared. This is what we need to do. Those who have the time to read it all can put it together for us - that is, if no 'clampdowners' are visiting. A clamperdowner is an operative who tries to dispell touchy theories early on in their postings. They will intimidate you into silence if you don't tell them to back off. They will come back within seconds if something fades then blossoms again.

We need to face this fact - our enemy is our own - those who are destroying our Constitution and Bill of Rights, making us go into perpetual war for the profit of their friends, lie to us about everything from warming to debt, abuse, torment, torture, and killing of humans, and they want to have total control over us so that we have no venues or voice to do what we're doing now.

We must contribute all these observations - too bad there can't be an ongoing forum.

What we can't do is be intimidated by accusations of tin foil. And we can't make claims based on a single observation.

We are all unique - some people are so rigid that it freezes and locks up their credibility and suspicion meters or they are incapable of brainstorming.

Some clampdowners are probably getting paid - on our tax dollars.

I call them clockwork doggies.

You might have noticed they always appear in pairs.
And I have no doubt they are paid by the GOP.

30. Yes, data is paramount.
First of all, I really like to explore information. I come here for information. I don't really need anyone to extrapolate for me (unless its a specific problem related to something I don't understand: nuclear physics, metallurgy, etc) and I agree that jumping to conclusions is foolish.

If you jump to the wrong conclusion, people dismiss the data.

I think there are a lot of people who innately have a fair amount of trust regarding the Bush administration's overall morality. They think that they are greedy and selfish, but only within reasonable bounds. For example, they wouldn't do anything to hurt American citizens. I think there are a lot of people who innately have a absolutely no trust regarding the Administration's morality and they believe they are capable of anything. These beliefs inform our interpretation of events-- but there is no lock on whether they are right or wrong. For example, the Bush Admin may be willing to lie about terror threats or even fabricate them, but that doesn't mean that he did so in this case. The truth is that we don't know the truth.

I like your term "clampdowners" though. I think it is clear that there are hired operatives at DU. We'd be fools to think that a blogosphere that has the power to change elections doesn't have operatives trying to subvert it.

14. Not chiding you at all..thanks for your observations.
I wondered yesterday if something was up. We occasionally get military jets flying close by..just not during the mid-day and not directly overhead. Yesterday, while watching my granddaughter in the pool, she asked why the 3 planes flying over us were making so much noise. I explained they were military jets and were probably practicing but inside I was thinking something was going on. Yes it could have been practice..but upon awakening this morning and hearing the news I can't help but wonder if there is a connection.

And I found an excerpt from a NYT article that has a large jpg image of a satellite view of Camp Peary.

24. I was working out at Joshua Tree national park...
3 months before we invaded Kuwait in 91. This is just a stones throw away from 29 palms.

All day long for 3 days, morning noon and night, we hear bombing runs.

Not being a vet I had no idea what they were at first until a guy I worked with who was a combat soldier in Viet Nam told me what was happening.

In a nut shell he said, we are going to war, but this was before all the bullshit at the UN was finished.

When the die is caste, it doesn't matter was the people think. Some Roman guy said that.
