Election Day in the US should be held on a Sunday or a day when people don't have to work.

everywhere else in the world. German voter turnout is something in the ballpark of 90% at elections. Same with Italy.

It is ridiculous in this day and age to have the elections on Tuesdays. I read somewhere that the reason for this is because in the 1700's many people had to travel great distances to the polling places, and the founders did not want to make anyone travel on a Sunday! So election day is set on Tuesday instead of Monday or Saturday. To me, it would make more sense to have election DAYS on Saturday and Sunday. Why do we have to get it done in a single day? Oh well, one of these days when I rule the world......
