4. It's impossible to discuss this war in short soundbites
unless you're a RW hate radio host, "Israel is always right and A-rabs are evil".

Randi wasn't "Going on and on", she was just talking about this serious issue like anyone with a brain would.

7. No kidding...
If they're going to put such a limit on time, they should at least have the red, yellow, and green lights and do this whole "debate" thing properly. Otherwise, what does everyone expect? she has 15 seconds to make all her points, and if she doesn't speak over the top of Booortz, she'll never be allowed to speak.

37. If You're Going To Quote Me, Then Please Have The Decency To Do So
accurately.

I didn't say on and on, which would've been overdramatizing if I had. You may think it petty that I distinguish between the two quotes but there is a significance difference not only in tone but in intention as well.

There were points when you could barely make out what she was saying and the atmosphere was one of chaos. Viewers never respond well to chaos.

I agree that short soundbites won't do it, and encourage her to drill the points home that she does. I just think she needs to refine the ability to recognize when it crosses the line to chaos rather than merely finishing a point.

5. I agree...
She was rambling and interrupting quite a bit and she started crying near the end as Boortz was smiling and mocking. Not her best effort imho.

35. Actually I Felt For Her With Her Crying And It Shows She's Human And Not
just a dumb ass talking head like most of the republican ignoramuses. I think she needs to learn when to make a point and then stop, but she's still extremely intelligent, on point and an absolutely decent human being.

Let the republican moron enablers mock her for crying, for they are cold, calculated and out of touch with true human empathy. But I'll be damned if I ever critique her for being human and shedding the tears that all of us are shedding.

8. She sometimes does that on her show
She'll talk over her callers and even her guests at times. Was that what she was doing? Or was she just offering up evidence. She does that with the best of them. Everything quoted chapter and verse.

9. Would he chastise a male guest for talking too much? Uh uh.
Fucking pig. And she was all the more gracious for not calling him on it on his territory. He owes Randi an apology, and I hope she addresses the comment on her show, tomorrow.

By the way, Boortz called Mohammed a "rag picker." We all know what he really meant and, in any case, his characterization is indefensible.

10. Oh please.
Look at the time each one spoke. I don't have any affinity for King whatsoever, he's an old self idolizing goat.

But he has an audience that wants to hear from two people if there are two people there. With Randi, you need bouncers to shut her up.

13. On the contrary.
I think she's a veritable fountain of knowledge. I just wish she could channel it in a way that would be beneficial in bringing the people into the tent who are peeking inside.

Possibly for the first time. Not driving them away.

14. I just get the whiff of "we don't like mouthy women who
speak their minds" here. Please tell me that I'm wrong. I also wonder why the other mouthy women like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin don't get treated by the media the way that Randi always does.

It's true Katrina Vanden Houven is much more ladylike in delivering her truth than Randi but why does Randi have to be her?

An unpolished diamond is still a diamond.

other viewers.

A host is supposed to make his best attempt to give equal time to speaking parties. She spoke, made a flurry of comments. Then Boortz was supposed to reply, granted :puke: But she wouldn't stop talking.

King had no choice but to insist she allow a response. The opposing side viewers would have been blasting him if he didn't.

The idea is to deliver knock out punches when you talk, and then shut up. Let the other speaker fumble around on the canvas.

Do ju get it?

16. "The idea is to deliver knock out punches"
I completely disagree. The segment was billed as a serious discussion about a deadly serious topic, not a gotcha sparring match about a bullshit RW wedge issue. Randi and others know we need to have a serious debate about this or nothing will change. She had lots to say and she said it. The issue can't be boiled down to a bumper sticker slogan.

17. I guess I saw I different show than you did.
She was put on the defensive from the beginning with the host favoring the Boortz. She was told to let Neal speak yet Neal was allowed to interrupt her without any admonition from Larry several times. Instead of allowing the lawnmower to go over her she fought back. That's what she does and I would like her to do more TV but not with them. There are other venues.

24. Neal Boortz once had a temper tantrum
on Phil Donahue's old MSNBC show because Phil didn't let him talk enough. He ripped off his headpiece and threw a nice little hissy fit. Maybe Larry was trying to prevent another Boortz meltdown.

32. So why was he directing it at Randi?
She was trying to make a valid point about what was going on in Lebanon was murder of children and civilians and those two clowns were trying to politicize it as Israel defending itself. She wasn't letting them get away with the usual propaganda lying points without a challenge.

39. It impressed me as the boys had decided to stick together and
stifle Randi with their catty scolding about not interrupting.

Boortz has such an enormous ego, he probably told Larry King that the only way he'd come on is if Randi was kept in check.

I agree about Randi's points. The testosterone high boys are delusional if they think Israel can bomb away its problems.

26. What does McKinney have to do with Randi's appearance on LKL?
Jeebus forbid we bring Mike Malloy into this...

As far as Sierra Leone, you made a terrible analogy to polishing Randi like you'd polish a diamond to make it better and more attractive. Do your own research to find where diamonds come from and what the locals go through. If you're a true progressive, and you own any diamonds, it might make you sick to our stomach and hopefully you'd get rid of those blood stones if they came from these places.

different types of fields of communication. We hear more from Randi than we do Cynthia. Randi has ratings and Cynthia has a vote count. Randi has had a job in radio for over 20 years and has stayed true to who she is. And...still has a job. And her audience keeps growing. Using McKinney as a type of "red flag" that Randi needs to change her approach in order to win the "hearts and minds" of anyone who is wavering, to me, in my opinion, the two can't be compared.
