What committee seats does Lieberman hold in the Senate?
Anyone know the list of his seats? It's my understanding the party leadership has the ability to remove him from those seats. Seeing as Joe has renounced his membership in the Democratic party and actually created his own political party to run as an Independent in CT (After he lost the Dem primary), isnt it more than within their right to strip him of his power?

2. here
When control of the Senate switched from Republicans to Democrats in June 2001, Lieberman became Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee, with oversight responsibilities for a broad range of government activities. He is also a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee and chair of its Subcommittee Clean Air, Wetlands and Private Property; the Armed Services Committee, where he chaired the Subcommittee on AirLand Forces and sits of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities; and the Small Business Committee. When Republicans gained control of the Senate in January 2003, Lieberman resumed his role as ranking minority member of the committees he had once chaired

3. So why not strip him of his seats?
If it's clear to him he won't continue to hold his seat regardless, maybe he'll finally concede and go away for a while. It's clear this all about power to him.

4. W need to HAMMER the Dem leadership on this!
He needs to lose those seats IMMEDIATELY, without discussion.
He's not a Democrat anymore- it's just that simple.

I wrote him this morning. You do the same.

My letter:

Senator Reid,

You will note that Joe Lieberman left the Democratic party last night. I say again, LEFT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. Please strip him of all powers and priviledges associated with membership in our party. Enough of this arrogant bastard.

Please stand solidly and steadfastly behind Ned Lamont. Notice what is happening; we are becoming Democrats again. Forget the consultants, who are good at only one thing: LOSING. If we are to regain the Congress WE MUST STAND FOR SOMETHING. And LOUDLY!

Democrats are pro-peace, pro-environment, pro-science, and perhaps most importantly pro-worker. We are against authoritarianism, imperialism, fundamentalism and institutionalized stupidity.

Please fill in any gaps I may have missed in the above paragragh and distribute it to our Democratic leaders. And tell them to grow a pair, to get a backbone, to lead us already.

Please don't screw up this opportunity coming our way (my God, what a gift we are looking at here) in November.

Thank you for your time.

7. Done. My letter.
Joe Lieberman has today demonstrated his lack of loyalty to the Democratic Party by declaring that he essentially is no longer a Democrat. I am writing to request that the Senate Democratic Party leadership remove his committee assignments from him and assign those to someone else in the party who is interested in representing the concerns of the constituency of the party.

We need change and reform in the legislature and in our party. Take this important step and let us start rewarding those interested in being agents of change rather than protecting the status quo.

8. Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Armed Services,
Environment/Public Works, and Small Business Committees.

All of these committees need watchdog types, not fake opposition and rubber stamps for Bush.

He needs to be replaced!
