About those 63 lobbyists for each congress person....
I really liked Ned's speech last night, but this one thing just jumped at me -- He talked about all the lobbyists, and that it's not good for our system.

63!!!

How ridiculous is that?

I appreciate that Ned has vowed to take on this issue!

What more can we do to get behind him on this, those of us from other states? 63!!

No wonder our whole democratic process is going down the crapper!!

Ideas, pleeeeez.

63!!!

5. Here's your grip, sweetie....
Your quote of me says NOTHING about a LAW, which was your gripe about me.

Yanno, this trashing other dems is getting very old. If you can reply in a courteous manner, fine, otherwise, adios.

3. This doesn't suprise me.
Politicians use lobbyists to write complex legislation for them. Influence of special intrests isn't just through brib... er, "political donations," it's also the fact that government has gotten so complex that politicians have come tom rely on lobbyists as "experts" to write legislation for topics a politician may not be knowledgable in. For example, a politician might have lobbyists from Big Pharma or the AMA to write some health legislation even though that politician isn't trying to suck up to Big Pharma.

6. Thanks for that input. I guess I knew this, but had forgotten.
This is even more odious!

Laws should have input from those affected, not just those who stand to profit.

Yet, for the most part, we citizens don't find this troublesome.

What you pointed out is very important!
