God
The lifeless bodies of those innocent children make me proud to be an American. There's so much good that can be done through the application of violence. It's obvious that more violence is still needed before we can work towards peace. If we don't let more violence happen how can we ever expect some good lasting peace?

You gotta be really smart like a Condi Rice to know exactly how to apply the right amount and right kind of violence to make the world enjoy lasting peace. We don't want to take the peace bread out of the oven before it's risen to the proper level, you know?

41. Both parties are cheering this on
The core problem from the US side is that there is no real dissent on Israel. Why? Only TWO Senators favor an immediate cease-fire, a position held by every country on Earth aside from the US, UK, and Israel...

flesh, bone and organs all splattered on concrete and broken furniture. Sick, sick, sick and I think even if mountains of bodies were stacked on top of mountains of bodies, we would still kill and murder as a species; we'd just make a path between the victims. :(

10. I've seen huge groups of Israeli youth denouncing their govts actions.
Saying this is horrible. Some IDF soldier are refusing to kill and missing targets on purpose. The PNACrs/BFEErs are the ones doing this, and of course the thousands of Lebanese rockets falling into Israel is just feeding their power over America and Israel.

Hey Hezbollah, stop firing the fucking rockets already, Israel will escalate this to the bitter end. Is that the best we can do as humans? I don't want Israel to do the bitter end thing, I'd love to see Iran helping restructure Iraq and to rule in peace. Are we doomed as humans?

18. "Some IDF soldier are refusing to kill and missing targets on purpose."
And where did you get that information? I find it very hard to believe that IDF soldiers, who have a much better chance than the IAF of correctly differentiating Hezbolla from non-combatants would miss a hostile target on purpose. And the Israeli Air Force? Missing targets means more dead innocents.

Actually, I'm just going to come out and say that I think you made that up. Care to admit it or are you just going to dissapear?

19.  Guardian UK : 'Israeli pilots 'deliberately miss' targets'
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 07:08 PM by jonnyblitz
(there was a thread started with this article a few days ago)

<snip>
At least two Israeli fighter pilots have deliberately missed civilian targets in Lebanon as disquiet grows in the military about flawed intelligence, The Observer has learnt. Sources say the pilots were worried that targets had been wrongly identified as Hizbollah facilities.

Voices expressing concern over the armed forces' failures are getting louder. One Israeli cabinet minister said last week: 'We gave the army so much money. Why are we getting these results?' Last week saw Hizbollah's guerrilla force, dismissed by senior Israeli military officials as 'ragtag', inflict further casualties on one of the world's most powerful armies in southern Lebanon. At least 12 elite troops, the equivalent of Britain's SAS, have already been killed, and by yesterday afternoon Israel's military death toll had climbed to 45.

As the bodies pile up, so the Israeli media has begun to turn, accusing the military of lacking the proper equipment, training and intelligence to fight a guerrilla war in Lebanon. Israel's Defence Minister, Amir Peretz, on a tour of the front lines, was confronted by troubled reserve soldiers who told him they lacked proper equipment and training.

17. What did this woman do? Do you believe she is a terrorist and deserves
to suffer like this?

A Lebanese injured woman lies in a hospital bed in the southern port city of Sidon, Lebanon, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, after a building collapsed in the town of Ghaziyeh following Israeli airstrikes. Israeli airstrikes hit near a funeral procession in south Lebanon on Tuesday, sending some of the 1,500 mourners running in panic and killing at least 13 people in nearby buildings, witnesses, hospital officials and the town's mayor said.

I saw a tape of the funeral procession carrying the bodies when the bombing started. The mourners panicked and many of the bodies fell to the ground as the people darted for cover.

Not only does the aggressor/invader Israel kill innocent women and children, they shell the funeral procession trying to kill more people.

I went to the pool today with my boys and could not shake these images from my head. They played, I looked around at the disconnect from reality. WE paid for this death and destruction. I still can't shake it, hence this thread. Thank God there are a lot of us that share these feelings or I would be wondering about humanity itself.

35. I've never been entirely sure where I stand on the Israel
question until now. I have always been supportive of Israel, but I have seen how some Arabs in the middle east are pawns in the bigger political games between the 'great powers' and I have felt sympathy for these pawns as well as Israel. And now, after this latest atrocity, I have finally come to my senses. Israel, as a state, is just absolutely pathological and heinous right now and has been mostly throughout its existence. Individual Israelis? I have loved and continue to love them, but I have no more room in my heart for their state. I refer all who disagree with me to Sylvia Tennenbaum's statement of the other day; it's easy to search for on the DU search engine, and if it's power doesn't touch you then we have nothing to discuss.

54. The truth
You're very lucky. Rarely does this happen. Sometimes being supportive to one thing can blind a person's sight and thought towards whatever opposes their support. It takes a very intellectual person that seriouslly wants to learn, to question and contradict themselves to be able to learn and understand the truth...

43. Why is there no real dissent on this in US politics?
We need to think long and hard about why both parties, 98% of the Senate, well over 90% of the House, every single presidential contender back this...Why are we the only nation on Earth that supports and sponsors such acts? Until we as a nation ask and answer these questions we will never win the war on terror. This is the chief fuel for terror recruitment and hatred of the US. Virtually all observers no this; few dare to say it publicly.

55. Goodbye Iham

Goodbye Mohammed.

Your parents will never know what you might have become.

You don't matter to much of anyone, and you didn't matter when you were alive.

Why? Well, your skin was the wrong color for one thing.

And you lived in the wrong part of the world. Religious extremists in your own country, in Israel and in the US think that their god accepts your death. Their god worships and celebrates your death. They themselves beat their chests in triumph and rejoice over your death.

You were never real people, real human life, to the US, to the IDF or to Hezbollah. You were just stupid, worthless children only useful as target practice.

Jesus rejoices. Allah rejoices, the God of the Jews rejoices at your filthy little bodies now not breathing or sighing or being children.

Isn't it sad, you ask, that grown men cannot work out their problems without their penis-shaped bombs that mangle and maim? But that is how they know they are true men!

You were bound to die and they wanted you to die so that their lives can be the BEST!

Sorry.

Goodbye.
