Another reply from C. Waite-Brown and my reply about spying.
I lost it. Just too many lies at one time - but apparently I can't reply to her caned crap so she didn't get it as a reply. Will have to resend my reply though.:

Is it a requirement that one has to be a liar to be in the republican party? Do you get the daily briefing on what to lie about? You people have destroyed the USA. Congratulations on killing a very nice country. Everything you've written is typical republican lies.

From her - unfortunately I can't get this to show the letter I got. Her's had words and letters crossed out. Looked like a draft:

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding President Bush and the National Security Administration's (NSA) efforts to track communications of suspected members of the Al Queda(crossedout) Qaeda network or other terrorist organization s . The President has explicitly stated that this program does not spy on American citizens calling their neighbors .

(more crossing out the little "r" & "m" and the last sentence)
The President did not secretly circumvent our domestic surveillance laws by proceeding with this operation. The Chairmen and r R anking m M embers of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees , as well as the top leaders of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, were aware fully briefied o f n the National Security Agency ( NSA ) surveillance operation from the start. They were briefed on the details from Vice President Chen e y, then NSA Director and Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael V. Hayden of the Air Force who was then the agency's director and is now a full general and principal deputy director of national intelligence, and then CIA Director George Tenet , who was then the director of the C.I.A .

Americans should not fear that their conversations are being monitored by the government. The civil liberties enjoyed by American citizens are not being abused in this circumstance. Because communications of one party had to be from outside of the United States with a strong reasonable basis to conclude that one party is a member of , or working with , Al Queda Qaeda , until evidence proves otherwise, this is an effective mechanism to monitor suspicious networking with terrorists.

(Can you believe this crap coming from a congress person!)
It is important to point out that President Clinton signed an executive order that authorized the Attorney General to conduct physical searches for foreign intelligence purposes without a court order, and President Carter signed an executive order that authorized the Attorney General to use electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order. President Bush 's executive order is neither unprecedented, nor uncommon for Presidents who follow their oath to protect American citizens from foreign agents operating in this country .

If the President were to stop monitoring communications of suspected terrorists, I feel this would be a major threat to our national security. It would be irresponsible to allow suspected terrorists to operate in this country without attempting to thwart their operations. The safety and security of United States citizens prompted the President to use this avenue . Given and being that our country has gone four years without another hit attack , I would like to attribute some of that success to the NSA operation. Those who attack the President for this operation are reckless partisans and should know better. They are putting political gain ahead of the security of this nation.

(whote sentence crossed out. Guess they killed the hearings again)
There are already discussions of Congressional hearings and investigations by the Justice Department. Please know that I will continue to monitor the developments of this situation with the security of our nation and the rights of our citizens in mind.

Throughout my tenure in public service, I have always kept an open door and an open dialogue with my constituents. As the 109th Congress addresses the many challenges facing our nation, I hope you will continue to share your thoughts and views with me. Accordingly, I encourage you to visit my website at www.house.gov/brown-waite to email me and find useful information about our 5th Congressional District.

It is my honor and privilege to serve the people of Florida 's 5th Congressional District and my offices and staff are here to provide you with any assistance you may need.
