1. It's the "that" part of "I keep hearing civil war this, civil war that".

2. Playing the Devils advocate... How would a civil war benefit
the neocons at this stage if at all?

3. because they could pull our troops out of Iraq
claiming that the region is too unstable, thereby not having to admit that Iraq was a collossal failure of epic proportions.

7. Oh the possibilities of the spin on this one
"we are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our men and women serving in the armed forces. Therefore,we feel compelled to leave Iraq because the region has become too unstable, thereby not allowing us to build schools and help old ladies across the street."
They have the ENTIRE media to spin this in a good way.
The average American tends to have a short memory. If they pull the troops out in the next month or so, then lower the price of gas in October, then plant an Osama Bin Hiding tape, it almost assures Republican re-election.

5. Good call, I think you've hit it on the head. They need to find a way to
get the troops outta there and save face; they know how unpopular this war is with the American people, and there is an election coming up...
And I think they know that they may not be able to get away with election theft this time around, so in order to retain power, they need to find a way to win legitimately...gonna be hard for them, since there is nothing legitimate about reThugs but their bank accounts.
