Dean labeled himself that way, and if Ned Lamont chooses to label himself that way, there will be nobody to blame but himself if it bites him in the ass. Around here, you got screamed at if you called Dean part of the left and you got screamed at if you called him out for the centrist he was and is. People put on Dean whatever it is they personally wanted to believe in, just like they've done with candidates from Stephanie Herseth to Paul Hackett. Hopefully they won't stick this shit on Lamont - or he'll be smart enough to reject if they try to.

12. It was the media feeding that frenzy, and those on the left who chose

to believe them, when he was actually someone governed as a centrist for 11 years out of his own sense of pragmatism.

But the days you can count on any help from the GOP to maintain a pragmatic governance are long gone. And he has adjusted to that reality thanks to the pull from his supporters, imo.
