GOP head: It's up to Ohioans to reform 'culture of corruption'
Associated Press

CLEVELAND - A "culture of corruption" in Ohio politics should inspire voters in search of change to show up at the polls, not hurt Republican candidates for governor and U.S. Congress in the scandal-saturated state, the leader of the national GOP said Wednesday.

"The voters are going to decide if the people on the ballot reflect a culture of corruption or do they reflect a reformist mentality? Are they reformers?" Ken Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee, told reporters after speaking at The City Club, a free speech forum.

Democrats dismissed Mehlman's visit, which also included a stop at a rally for U.S. Sen. Mike DeWine, calling it damage control.

Republican-run Ohio has been plagued by scandal, the most recent development coming Monday when U.S. Rep. Bob Ney said that he would not seek re-election to a seventh term. Ney is under scrutiny for his ties to Jack Abramoff, a lobbyist at the center of a congressional corruption scandal. He denies all wrongdoing and has not been charged.

9. I know REPUBLICANS who are so fed up they are voting for Strickland
and telling their own party members they are going to and could care LESS what other party members think.

Some of them are simply moderate Republicans, and some of them are damn bigots.

11. Is he saying Fraudwell is a reformist
The man who was co-chair for the Ohio Bush Campaign while he was supposed to be monitoring
the election. How would voting for corrupt officials promote reform or is this more of
down is up, in is out and wrong is right mind plays. Or is he trying to hint people vote
for the democrats.
