AL GORE is my new AVATAR
I have given this so much thought that it makes my head spin.

GORE needs to be drafted if he won't run a primary. He's a GOD DAMNED GENIUS, he WON the first time (and anyone who wants to debate THAT is dumber than the PIG BUSH), and he's been honing his skills in the public arena since 2000.

GORE IS the president. Or WAS if you count the 2004 debacle. GORE is going on my screen saver and my car. I will start writing to whatever web site will reach him weekly; DAILY if necessary.

GORE had every evil piece of filth gunning for him in 2000 and it STILL was obvious he won. He can make that joke 10,000 times during the election, and it will STILL be funny.

NOBODY can name a current Democrat that would be a better president than AL GORE. I defy anyone to do so.

Gore has been ahead of the game all his life. It's time we had some forward thinkers rather than backassward drinkers in the White House.

11. I love Al Gore - but...
...he has said repeatedly that he's not running. We, the hopefuls in the wilderness, keep trying to read between the lines and look for double meansings and loopholes that indicate he may jump into the race at the last minute after all, that he's just biding his time, working out a grand strategy. But at some point, we've got to take the guy at his word. He seems to genuinely feel that he has more freedom to fight for the causes that mean the most to him, if he's not encumbered by the political process. I'm not sure he's right about that - after all, the best place to affect a change for the better, is from a position of power - but on the other hand, he's seen the view from both positions, and surely knows of which he speaks. I'd love to see him run in '08 - I'd plaster my car full of bumper stickers, bang on doors, stuff envelopes, make phone calls, send money, whatever it takes - but realistically, I don't think it'll happen. We can, however, support him in other ways now, by promoting his environmental message to the rest of the world. Or perhaps I should say, to the rest of the country. Because the rest of the world is pretty well informed already.

14. He's never said he's not running. He's said he has no plans to run, which
is VERY DIFFERENT.

16. He's not really saying that he won't run.

But people here at DU are mostly missing one of the important facts.

It's two years before the 2008 campaign goes into high gear. There is plenty of time for Gore to form his campaign and jump in. Gore's a very smart man. Just maybe, he doesn't want to detract from other, very important matters. E.G., the 2006 midterm elections.

In my opinion, Gore's candidacy for 2008 is a fait accompli. He's going to run, and that fact is clearer to me every day. But he would be a fool to announce it now, or even speculate about it. He is using soft denials, ones which do not rule out anything. But come the time, and only he can determine when, he'll jump in with both feet. That time might be later than we'd like. But one thing is for sure, it's way too early now for him to commit.

Please don't push the man too hard. But encourage, yes. Give the man until Summer, 2008. Then, it will happen.

19. I would be thrilled and delighted if you were right...
...and I was wrong, but those just aren't the vibes I'm getting, when I've seen him on the late-night talk shows and such. It seems that he can either put all his energy and focus into the very dire problem of climate change, or he can put that energy and focus into a renewed political campaign, but not both. All the reading between the lines is wishful thinking, and if we do too much of that, we're heading for a huge crash. Still, here's an instance where I'd rather be happy than right. ;) I'll certainly keep watch.

He'd promise to put all the Bush gang and the PNAC in a LOCK BOX and throw away the key!

I might even vote twice I don't know!

13. Gore for 2008
He's my numero uno.

I like several pairings:

Gore/Sebelius
Gore/Clark
Gore/Edwards
Gore/???? -- somebody to come later.

15. The Dem who opens the books on BushInc will be the best Dem president
because that person will trust the American citizen with the information needed to prevent more 9-11s and prevent this country's slide into fascism.

And the only Dem who CAN win is the one who works to secure the voting machines BEFORE the election. And that person will DESERVE to be president.

17. I'm telling all y'all....GORE/CLARK 08.
Love the Edwards but he has diddly squat foreign policy experience and these are tough times in terms of foreign relations. Kerry - too soon. There, I've said it. Clinton, too polarizing. There, I've said that too.

Gore/Clark is THE winning combo.

NO, RGB, we'll TIE HIM UP AND TICKLE HIS FEET UNTIL HE PROMISES TO BE PRESIDENT.
