One more month to destroy Hezbollah? Israel is asking for one
more month. I thought they did that two weeks ago. How long does it take to destroy a people and raize a nation with sophisticated weaponry anyway?

1. Well, first of all, Hezbollah has actually turned out to be
Tougher than Israel planned for.

But I think that the main reason that Israel is repeating the mantra of "one more month" is because neither Syria or Iran have risen to the bait and attacked Israel. And that I think is the main reason for this war, to provide Bushco an excuse to join up with Israel and fulfill their PNAC dreams of MidEast hegemony.

7. dingdingding!! we have a winner!
yup, that's my take as well. Iran and Syria, though its hard, have wisely withheld. I would advise them to continue doing so.
the longer this stretches on, the more its clear to everyone this is not a defensive action by the IDF.

2. Rummy and Cheney might be able to advise them.
You know,"Hezbollah is in its last throes" and "we've turned a corner" and that type of BS.

3. Another month of this hell for Lebanon and the Palestinians????
If the world remains silent for another month that will just give Israel permission to try any insanity they can imagine.

Where are the caring people of the world? They cannot say they care if they do nothing.

4. Hezbollah is not a nation
Hezbollah is a parasite sucking the life out of Lebanon.

6. I thought it was sucking the life out of Israel.

In the meantime, Israel is doing its share of sucking the life out of Lebanon.

8. well, then the flea powder is also killing the dog.
maybe the flea powder is too disproportionate?

when the IDF is done, they'll have a dead dog (Lebanon), and some dead fleas (Hezbollah), and then even more fleas (the outraged surrounding middle east).

9. Lebanon itself will survive
whatever Israel will do, as long as the illegal occupier Hezbollah is no longer allowed to rule large parts of the country. This is like chemotherapy - horrible and uncertain but still worlds better than the alternative.

11. what a disgusting post, comparing IDF cleansing to chemotherapy
Why does Israel get to decide whether the patient should live or not? Or, for that matter, to put the patient to such extreme risk?

The operation was a success but the patient died?

When did the patient sign a permission form? Did Israel discuss with Lebanon its intentions to destroy its infrastructure to get rid of the "cancer"?

As surgeons, the IDF should be sued for malpractice.

disgusting. Humans mean nothing anymore. They're diseases....they're parasites.

10. I think it was CNN that did a show on "The next generation of Hezbollah"
Featured an interview with a mother and her 5yr old daughter.
Maybe after the little girl sees her mother converted to dead, she'll consider abandonment of her religion.

Probably not though, and Israel may have their hands full with gun barrel diplomacy for years to come.
