Bush on world crises: "It's an interesting period"
QUESTION: So what has happened to America's clout in this region that you've committed yourself to transform?

BUSH: It's an interesting period because, instead of having foreign policies based upon trying to create a sense of stability, we have a foreign policy that addresses the root causes of violence and instability. For a while, American foreign policy was just, "Let's hope everything is calm" -- kind of, managed calm. But beneath the surface brewed a lot of resentment and anger that was manifested on September the 11th. And so we've taken a foreign policy that says: On the one hand, we will protect ourselves from further attack in the short run by being aggressive in chasing down the killers and bringing them to justice. Blah Blah zzzzz.... zzzzzzz

"May you live in interesting times."

Thanks so much for rescuing us from the mind-numbing boredom of peace and prosperity! Idiot.

6. When Bush labels something as "interesting" it just means that
he needs a minute to line up his BS answer. I have heard him use the word many times as he is stalling, i.e. "That's an interesting question". It just means that he is totally baffled.

Just goes to show how Bizzare the Bushites have twisted things...
Not too many years ago, that would have been a "radical left" answer.

8. Yeah, peace is so boring and unprofitable
Where's the percentage in "managing calm"?

But I don't think the word "addresses" means what Chimpy thinks it means. That sentence leads me to conclude that Chimpy thinks the definition of "addresses" includes "exacerbates" or (in his parlance) "stirs up the shit."

10. And just what, pray tell
are "the root causes of violence and instability"? After the absolutely savage response of Israel to the capture of two of their soldiers, will this idiot still try to tell us that "they hate us for our freedoms"?

Nothing he says has any correlation to what is going on. He just strings together a bunch of slogans, never mind whether they're appropriate or not, and spouts them as though they in some way represent reality.

To the victims of both sides in the disaster going on in Lebanon, it must seem a below the belt reaction to have so much death, injury, and damage described as "interesting". Tell a grief stricken father or mother, digging through rubble with their bare hands to find a beloved child, that their actions are interesting. The man is a complete idiot.

WAR IS PEACE
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
