Repub pollster: many Republican voters plan to stay at home in November

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/b8e5845c-2704-11db-80ba-0000779e2340.html

<snip>

But Republican consultants doubt Mr Bush’s industrious vacation schedule will have an impact on his low approval ratings, which have remained below 40 per cent for most of the last year. Frank Luntz, probably the most influential Republican pollster, said Mr Bush had yet to shed the image of incompetence that many Americans derived from his response last year to Hurricane Katrina, which struck America’s south-east coastline when he was holidaying in Crawford.

...

According to Mr Luntz’s research and other recent opinion poll findings, many Republican voters plan to stay at home in November. The same polls show very high motivation among Democratic voters.

1. That's our goal.
I don't expect Republicans to vote for a Democrat, but if they stay home, it's gold.

2. Good. The Republicans SHOULD stay home. After all, they're the ones
who created this stinkin' mess we're in now. They should just stay home and let their votes do something good for a change, like let the Dem candidates take over and restore some sanity and reason to our government again. These two qualities have been sorely missing since Bush & Gestapo took over.

4. Good! Click your heels together, Repubs, and repeat after me:
"There's no place like home ... ." "There's no place like home ... ."
"There's no place like home ... ."

5. call me crazy, but I don't buy it
I think this is part of the plan, and I say that partially by how many Pukes I know who are saying they won't vote or that everyone in Washington shoud go - it strikes me as the newest meme to make us let our guard down.

I think some folks may mean it, but we all know that at the last second, they will pull some shenanigans to get people in the booths.

6. What I don't understand is why these same Republicans
don't research Dem candidates for themselves instead of only taking Insannity or Limpball's word regarding Democratic initiative.

They might actually find that they agree with more Democratic policies than Republicans.

Not ALL Republicans are dumb, you know.

7. Meanwhile, their votes will be counted anyway
(even if they didn't bother to fill out an "absentee" ballot ... as in Florida, their absentee ballot will be "corrected" ...)

8. So is voting good for democracy, or not?
If this happens, would it be even better for our representation if even fewer people thought they had a voice? Or is not voting a form of speech?
