Ned did win the first battle and it was against great odds but Joe is still going to be the large "army", so to speak and a very dangerous one at that. Joe's problem is he is moving into unknown territory and like all great armies that move into new territory will have a major weakness. That weakness is their supply line (money in Joe's case).
Think of Burgoyne moving down from canada during the revolution. He had to move a massive army, all the time expanding it from not only Regular troops (think Joe's campaign staff) to Tories (think democrats who side with Joe), and Indians that were not very reliable as allies mainly because they didn't trust the british either (think repugs). That movement required a ton of supplies (In Joe's case Money) to keep it moving and a special finesse of the commander keeping all the various troops, all with different motives, moving toward the same goal - the defeat of the enemy.
In order for Joe to keep all these factions in his corner he will have to be putting out a very mushy campaign message without any specifics. It's the only way he can avoid pissing of his democrats and avoid pissing off their opposite, the republicans, and lord knows about the independents.
We will have to work to cut off Joe's supply line and leave him isolated. That means cutting of any support he might get from the DLC, local party officials, the media, and wavering democrats. In order to do that we will need to be very vocal and let those in the party know that any, any support of Lieberman will cost them personally when they are up for re-election. Joe needs to be tagged as the Benedict Arnold of the party every chance we get.
Sorry for the rant.
