Even if there is only 1% chance of this happening
It is not worth the gamble.

Please all follow what happen in UN security council today
Please all go find clip of press briefing by ARAB LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVES after their presentation to the UN Security Coucil today.

The warning has been givebn again and agin by many leaders.
But deaf is the ears that it is falling on

The ARAB LEAGUE of 22 countries has to act.
They will not be backing down.
The people of the middle east are angry.
The goverments has to listen to the people or there be choas.

We all witness Afghanistan, even today there is no evidence presented of OBL guilt. Even the US FBI has no evidence of such. Now the reason becomes the evil Taliban. While such spin is good for American it is not how the middle east people or the people of the muslim world see it.

We all witness Iraq and the WMD. While the spin and arguement on faulty intelligent rage in America.
It is not how the middle east and the muslim world see it.

And now Lebanon almost now a month has pass. THIS WILL END

The ARAB LEAGUE will not back off. Will any party back OFF?
They are in a corner with only one path left. The bullying MUST STOP. They cannot back off and they knows it.

So now we have the potential of 1967 raising it ugly head
Will it come to that? Will someone gives ground?

It will be 22 countries or more if the OIC get involve against Isreal.
Yes Isreal got 300 nukes but it will make no different. It will only ensure Isreal today destruction if use.
Yes the American Military is around.
Will US take side then if WAR declare. Who else will jump in then.

Will the world then we face with a choice of choosing side.
Will the world ask themself what path do we want a path of perpetual war or peace?
US/Isreal are now look on as rogue nations.

I there be a all out major conflict then there must be a path to future peace.
Will US then be alone.

Is this the path of madness that we all want to take?

While we can say noone be so crazy to start a war of this scale.
One have seen the WAR on AFGHANISTAN, IRAQ and now LEBANON.
Who is crazy already?
Who now were go crazy?
The assumption that people will not start war already shatter.

NOW I SAY .... DO YOU THINK THAT THERE IS ZERO CHANCE OF THE 22 NATIONS ARAB LEAGUE DECLARING WAR ON ISREAL.
Think think and ask yourself if noone back off and the ANTE goes up will they or will they not.

Then ask yourself what US going to do cause Isreal cannot win against 22 countries.
Then asked yourself if US side with Isreal will Russia or any major country take a hand in it.

Then asked yourself would other country say enough of war lets end it once and for all just like world war2.

THEN ASK ONESELF....... WHICH side is the side for peace. and which side is for perpetual war.
IF there need to be a world war to acheive permanent world peace.
My contry will be with the ARAB LEAGUE for we see no other choice for a future of peace.

THINKS ON MY WORDS.
AND WATCH and act if need to that this dont come to pass.

When Madness grip the world.... WAR follows in its wake.
And under the leadership of bush we all witness madness and have seen the war that enfolds.
Now madness has rear its ugly head and I pray for the sanity that might come unto all so we avoid the path to WW3. For when the ARAB LEAGUE of 22 countries declare war on Isreal. Even Isreal nukes cannot ensure them victory. For then it is too late.

All this just for a simple word..... WITHDRAWAL.
Do we know how to withdraw ourself from the edge of the cliff of WW3.
Can you be so certain that the ARAB LEAGUE might not decide to once and for all put this conflict to rest.
Will Saddam word of MOTHER OF ALL BATTLES come true.
If US maddness can overcome US and we see all this pointless war can one assume that the same madness would not overcome 22 countries who see a need to stop all the bullying and who see no other course left open.
They say a single bullet started WW1. Can 3 Unjust WAR start WW3.
Will this be how history be written.
Will this be what the future Americans be reading.

I ask of you STEP AWAY FROM THIS MADNESS.

So some damn leader look strong.

I see signs of all this coming to pass.

Maybe all ezpect the ARAB LEAGUE to walk away like dog with tail between their legs,
Maybe they will maybe they wont.

But they know if they fight it will be the end of Isreal/US. Even if they lose they win.
Cause they got the world on their side.

So madness, pure madness.

Remember you like to say they think of 70 virgins.
You like to say they want to destroy Isreal.
You like to say they terrorist and use sucide bomb.

I say now if they all this WW3 will happen if some parties do not back off.

31. That is the truth.
And your words make the hair on my head stand up.

Manufactured fear is what was used as a political tool to lull the American people into accepting this neocon new reality. Protesting fake fear is what I was arrested for in 2004*, and I plead guilty as charged to interfering with the official act of politicizing fear.

Now that the time has come for REAL fear - the kind that makes citizens wake up, stand together, and work together to prevent the unthinkable. So why is there such inertia?

Have we been programmed to ignore all the warning signs, to ignore the escalations because we've heard it all so many times before and it wasn't true?

after 9/11 when Bush publicly proclaimed Iraq, Iran and North Korea enemies. No diplomacy, no finesse-how stupid can you be--unless you are intentionally igniting the fuse. I hold this administration responsible for the state the world is in now!!!! We had goodwill, we had cooperation from many countries, including Islamic countries after 9/11, and it has been, in my opinion, intentionally squandered by the loonie, warmongering PNAC crowd.

Conservative magazine: Bush, Rice at odds over Israeli war
RAW STORY
Published: Tuesday August 8, 2006

A difference in opinions regarding Israel's decision to fight Hezbollah has caused a rift in the relationship between Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and President Bush, leading the president to override her for the first time ever, according to the conservative online magazine Insight on the News, RAW STORY has found.

"State Department sources said Ms. Rice has been repeatedly stymied in her attempts to pressure Israel to end strikes against Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon. The sources said the secretary's trip to the Middle East last week was torpedoed by the Israeli air strike of a Lebanese village in which 25 people were killed," Insight reports.

"I've never seen her so angry," said an aide, according to Insight.

8. there is 0 chance for the Arab League to start a war now.
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 08:02 AM by tocqueville
#1 the Israeli have nukes, the others haven't
#2 the Arab League is so tied to the West economically that for some (Egypt is the best example) their economies would immediately collapse, which means the street taking over and Islamists taking over. Egyptian and Jordanian
leaders want to keep their little privileges. The others want to sell oil and buy luxury products for the money.
#3 internal religious and cultural oppositions between Shiites/Sunnis make agreements very difficult. Many Arab countries with a Sunni majority see with horror the raise of Shiite powers like the Hezbollah and probably Iraq tomorrow

but a lot of wars through proxy can blow up like in Syria, Iran and Iraq can collapse. Severe unrest in Egypt, Jordan and even some Gulf States is possible with the rise of fundamentalistic regimes as a serious possibility.

Isreal nuke would not help them.

20. I could be wrong..
.... but I don't think nukes are a big factor.

The next country that uses nukes will be an immediate pariah in the world, isolated, reviled, condemned.

Whether is is Israel or Iran, India or even the US, the next country that uses nukes will find themselves in more trouble than anything they might have gained.

25. it's a question of balance of power
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 08:48 AM by tocqueville
it's the ultimate resource. If there was one or several Islamic countries armed with nukes, we'd probably see a big conventional war between them and Israel. Besides I don't think that the collective consciousness of Israel or at least part of it is so concerned in being seen as a "pariah". What's happening right now is that Israel is nuking Lebanon minus the radioactivity. The effect is already of Hiroshima scale in the south. But the world has difficulties to understand that it's not that difficult to achieve 10 Kt with conventional explosives. It takes just a bit more time.

The Arab league countries themself maybe prepare to take some nuke.

You think Iran really scare of US
or for that matter Isreal.

They might not have nuke

But they ready for a fight.
This time round they might not wait for the fight to come to them
They might take the fight to the enemies instead.

The middle east never see Isreal and US as friends.
That is the reality.

40. Isn't this the first time the Arab League has stood together? What about
Bush's friends the Saudi's and United Arab Emerites? They wouldn't let this happen...would they? If they did then it would mean they saw some benefit and would be doing what Bush wants...which is for the Saudi's, UAI's to control the ME.

I don't know where Iran fits it...but if Saudi's and UAI's are involved I would wonder about them starting WWIII unless Bush wants it.

If Bush wants it there's nothing we can do given his connection with the Money Pots in the Arab world. We have to hope some saner heads are out there working behind the scenes...that we don't know about yet. :-(

(us included) as here merely to provide him with whatever his desires and needs are.

I remember a photo op he did on the gulf coast after he made sure as many people aa possible drowned from Katrina. He couldn't understand why a woman would be trying to pick up her possessions from her flattened home instead of co-operating with him and going to get food at a distribution point he kept telling her about. He kept saying, you can go get food there. She said, yes, i know, and kept gathering up her stuff. He couldn't comprehend that she might be doing something she felt was more important to her than what he thought should be more important to her, and to him.

11. Chinese Mideast Envoy Behind Arab Demands
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 08:12 AM by Ghost Dog
http://www.theepochtimes.com/news/6-8-8/44722.html
By Andre Pachter
China Confidential
Aug 08, 2006

The mastermind behind the coordinated Arab demand for an immediate Israeli troop withdrawal from Lebanon is China's special envoy to the Middle East, Sun Bigan, who is currently visiting the region.

Sun, who is a veteran diplomat and one of China's leading Arabists, called Monday for an immediate unconditional ceasefire in the war between Israel and the Lebanese proxy army of Beijing's non-Arab Islamist ally, Iran.

<snip>

Sun expressed China's willingness to intensify "consultation and coordination" with Arab nations.

As China Confidential reported on Sunday, Beijing is maneuvering to become a trusted intermediary--and maybe even a mediator--in the Middle East conflict. Sun is advancing the argument that the United States has lost credibility and influence in the region as a result of its steadfast support for Israel, and that a more neutral power--such as China-- is urgently needed to help end the fighting and reduce regional tensions.

The real objective is to weaken the U.S. position--and ultimately drive the US from the region altogether.

edit:

UN News Center: http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=19443&Cr=&Cr1=

The Council meeting at UN Headquarters in New York today heard addresses from representatives of the League of Arab States, Israel and Lebanon.

Speaking on behalf of the League of Arab States, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr al-Thani said innocent Lebanese had borne the brunt of the current conflict.

“It is most saddening that this Council stands idly by, crippled and unable to stop the bloodbath, which has become the bitter daily lot of the unarmed Lebanese people,” he said, adding later in his speech that “what is happening will sow the seeds of hatred and extremism in the area and provide a pretext for those who feel that the international community is taking sides.”

Sheikh al-Thani recommended an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire; the withdrawal of Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to behind the Blue Line separating Israel and Lebanon; an increase in the size, strength and mandate of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL); and support for the Lebanese Government so that it can deploy its army, and thereby extend its authority, across all of its territory.

Now, finally, Tony Blair ("Yo!'' Blair to President George W. Bush) is going on his Caribbean holiday.

He will be in touch by telephone, he assures a worried world, to help in formulating a Lebanon peace deal. Except he won't.

The thought that Bush would consult Blair over the crisis is laughable. He may ring him up and tell him what America wants but that is different than consulting him. Jacques Chirac will definitely not be consulting Blair and I doubt that any Israeli or Lebanese politician will want to talk to him. And just what are the improvements that allows Blair to take leave? Even the proposed resolution is insulting to Lebanon. /... )

Maybe our greedy corporate-owned Congress and Senate will see how America will be isolated and cut off from oil and they will finally take action against the criminal Bush Regime. I'm worried, too.

30. Arab League/Lebanese Demands (from CNN):

Below is the plan supported by the Arab League and most parties in Lebanon, including Hezbollah, which they want incorporated into the draft resolution:

An immediate and comprehensive cease-fire and a declaration of agreement on the following issues:

# An undertaking to release the Lebanese and Israeli prisoners and detainees through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

# The withdrawal of the Israeli army behind the "Blue Line" and the return of the displaced to their villages.

# A commitment from the Security Council to place the Shebaa Farms area and the Kfarshouba Hills under U.N. jurisdiction until border delineation and Lebanese sovereignty over them are fully settled. While in U.N. custody, the area will be accessible to Lebanese property owners there. Further, Israel surrenders all remaining land mine maps in south Lebanon to the U.N.

# The Lebanese government extends its authority over its territory through its own legitimate armed forces, such that there will be no weapons or authority other than that of the Lebanese state as stipulated in the Taef national reconciliation document.

# The U.N. international force, operating in south Lebanon, is supplemented and enhanced in numbers, equipment, mandate and scope of operation, as needed, in order to undertake urgent humanitarian and relief work and guarantee stability and security in the south, so that those who fled their homes can return.

# The U.N., in cooperation with the relevant parties, undertakes the necessary measures to once again put into effect the Armistice Agreement signed by Lebanon and Israel in 1949, and to ensure adherence to the provisions of that agreement, as well as to explore possible amendments to or development of said provisions, as necessary.

# The international community commits to support Lebanon on all levels and to assist it in facing the tremendous burden resulting from the human, social and economic tragedy which has afflicted the country, especially in the areas of relief, reconstruction and rebuilding of the national economy.

bases there. They could tell Bush if he doesn't sign on they will throw out our troops and ships. They could put the screws to him and so could Turkey? I don't know about that story of the Chinese Envoy but with all the money we owe China because of our debt it's possible they could intervene by threatening...(but they need us to support their economy because of all we buy...so I wouldn't think that would be very likely)

33. IMPORTANT PETITION TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY:
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 11:09 AM by mom cat
Call for UN General Assembly: Immediate Ceasefire in Lebanon
Dear Supporter of Peace and Diplomacy,

The most recent news at this writing is that the Israeli Security Cabinet has approved a "widening of the ground offensive" and that Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon would resume "in full force" after the expiration of the partial suspension that followed the massacre in Qana.

As you know, under international law the UN Security Council is supposed to act to stop crimes against peace, but cannot do so in this case because it is paralyzed by the veto of the Bush Administration, which opposes an immediate cease-fire and is backed in this position by the United Kingdom. However, under Resolution 377, "Uniting for Peace," the UN General Assembly can act when the Security Council fails to do so (see "A Road to Peace in Lebanon?" Jeremy Brecher and Brendan Smith, July 27, 2006, http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0727-27.htm.) This procedure has been used 10 times in the history of the UN, often at the initiative of the United States.

Please join us, therefore, in circulating the following petition, calling for the UN General Assembly to act to bring about an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza. Even a significant movement towards the convening of the General Assembly to consider an immediate, unconditional cease-fire will put significant pressure on the major powers to support an immediate cease-fire.

------------------

To: United Nations General Assembly
Petition for an Emergency United Nations Resolution on Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza
To Bring About an Immediate Unconditional Cease-Fire in Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza

We, the undersigned,

Deploring the current bombing and invasion of Lebanon by foreign forces as an act of aggression in violation of the United Nations Charter and international law;

Concerned by the Security Council's failure to condemn the current bombing and invasion of Lebanon and to call for an immediate unconditional cease-fire to end the bombing of Lebanon, the rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns, and the military attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza;

Further concerned by actions of the United States and the United Kingdom to obstruct efforts to bring about an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza;

Troubled by the humanitarian crisis, violations of human rights, and destruction and recognizing the urgent need for international assistance to the Lebanese people and the Palestinian people in Gaza;

Since the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, has failed to to halt the threat to peace, we call upon all Member States of the United Nations to immediately convene an Emergency Meeting of the General Assembly, under the provisions of General Assembly Resolution 377 (V), Uniting for Peace, to act to bring about an immediate unconditional cease-fire, and to enforce the obligations of states and armed groups to comply with international law; and furthermore,

To mandate immediate cooperation of all nations in the cessation of armed attacks by all parties; the immediate withdrawal of the occupying forces; the coordination, by the United Nations, of the response to the humanitarian disaster in Lebanon and Gaza, with particular attention to provision of medical care, food and restoration of water and electricity supplies; and furthermore,

To enforce the obligations of the invading forces under the provisions of the Hague Regulations, Geneva Conventions and other applicable international agreements; to prevent the further destruction of Lebanon and Gaza's infrastructure; to provide for full reparation to the Lebanese people and Palestinian people in Gaza for damages caused and precipitated by the unlawful use of military force; and to ensure the removal of cluster bombs and un-detonated munitions.

I don't have the skinny on this, but I'll bet we stall for time.

Israel has signalled they intend to stand down from their wider offensive (whatever that means). I think it's a signal that the US is finally exerting the pressure needed to keep Israel from dictating the course of the agreement with their continuing aggression.

The thing that is still hanging out there is what Hizbollah will do, in the interim, and after they 'agree' in the UN. I wonder WHO will broker that, in the open or in private? The Arabs? I hope there's someone talking to Hizbollah at the same time. The rockets should be stopped.

With all the Lieberman Wars going on there their might not be much interestest and if there isn't i'll repost in "I/P Forum." This needs some attention...and I don't know what we can do besides signing a petition and I have little hope for that since I signed two of them with thousands of others to UN begging them to not let Iraq Invasion go forward. So...I don't think the UN can do anything given Bush/Blair's Control of it.

It's worth a try though...signing the petition.

57. It's not just the Arab League either; OIC is considering arms for Lebanon
The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) which unites 56 nations, has asked whether they should step into the bombardment and consider providing arms to Hezbollah, for the defense of Lebanon. That is if the UN continually draws up resolutions which are biased toward favoring the needs and wants of Israel only, while requiring Muslim nations to abide by international norms and principles.

The popular outrage in these nations has reached the boiling point and their leaders can no longer ignore the effect it will have on their own regimes, if the injustices in the Middle East are allowed to continue.

Our nut in the White House and his advisors have been itching for this "long war"; globalization of the capital power can't be completely effective without redividing the "pie" of the world's resources and eliminating those who may object to being totally dominated by Western interests. Murdering innocents and decimating nations means nothing to these real "terrorists", as was proven by that first veto at the UN by the US in support of the bombardment of Lebanon. They are ruthless bastards and if Israel happens to fall in the pursuit of our ultimate objective, that loss will be a minor glitch...just more "collateral damage" in the race to "win" a phony "war against terrorism".

We should all be aware that they really don't care how many die or what chaos is created; everything is at stake for those who see their dying system backed into a corner and they will fight as tho they have nothing to lose...the masses of the world are all expendable to such madmen.

Looks like the Lebanon war is escalating all on its own into a major U.S. confrontation with the Islamic world.

This is one, frankly, that I don't think the White House or the neocons have a clue how to deal with except for military escalation. I'm not sure they even have a handle on that.

This would be a good time for a major randomizing event. Regime change in DC, anyone?

63. Unless it's a radical change, there's not much hope of different strategy.
They haven't invested all of this time trumping up hatred and racism against any who don't agree with this empire building, for nothing. The phrase "you're with us or against us" has become a practical national mantra and nationalistic fervor is higher than it's been in a long time in this country. They're already beginning to label anti-war activists as "insurgents", so it's a small leap to the next level.

Unless the righteous outrage reaches an equal boiling point to those in the Muslim nations, where those leaders are forced to listen and respond to their populations, we'll be on a mad spiral to all-hell-breaking-loose and effectively helpless to change or stop this warring policy that those in both parties aspire to. Until we recognize exactly who is carrying out massive terrorism, occupying, and bringing sovereign nations to their knees under the pretense of "establishing democracy", "searching for WMD", routing out forces of "Evil", or "self defense", the murders and bombing will go on unchecked, all with our blessing and in our name.

There is a national rally this Saturday, which at least gives voice to those who seek Peace as an option. Those sort of "randomizing events" should grow, as our leaders take us further down, and now is not the time to worry about what the guy marching beside you has painted on his sign. We have much to lose if we continue to sit idle and expect elections or the UN or any leader to change what's happening, right before our eyes.

No one wants to listen.

Americans honestly believe that the rest of the world is as lazy as they are.

Many Americans also do not have even the slightest inkling as to what is ailing the Arab/Persian world. They refuse to try to dig deep enough to find out what America has done to piss these folks off.

Instead, too many Americans see this as a frickin' Crusade, good vs. evil. They will never face the evil their own nation has done.

As long as gays can't marry and they can watch American Idol, who cares about the Mideast?

** needs more terror, and he and his goddamned goons are making sure the conditions are explosive enough to get terror.

I really fear for all of us in the world right now. Idiots are running all the attractions and we're stuck on the ride til they say we can get the hell off.

88.  Welch to Israel In Last-Ditch Diplomatic Effort

17:45 Aug 10, '06

(IsraelNN.com) American State Department Middle East envoy David Welch returned to Israel Thursday in what appears to be a last ditch effort to reach an agreement on a draft resolution to be presented to the United Nations Security Council.

Welch flew to Jerusalem instead of Washington, after visiting Beirut, as the gap between France and the United States widened. Israel is delaying a widening in offensive in southern Lebanon pending the outcome of the attempt to reach a diplomatic breakthrough, but time is running out. The Arab League has intensified pressure on France that a resolution include a call for Israel to withdraw all its troops from Lebanon, leaving it to the un-trained Lebanese army to patrol the area, where it has not operated for more than 20 years.

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - UN Secretary General
Kofi Annan has called on the UN Security Council to pass a resolution on the "nightmare" Lebanon war by the end of the week as France and the United States wrangled over the wording of a text.

"The secretary general believes that it ought to be possible for the Security Council to adopt a resolution by the end of the week," a UN spokesman said Thursday following a meeting between Annan and the US and French ambassadors.

There has been growing international frustration at the Security Council's failure to make a truce call more than four weeks into the conflict that has left more than 1,000 civilians dead in Lebanon and 38 in Israel.

Annan "reiterates his call that the fighting must stop to save civilians on both sides from the nightmare they have endured in the past four weeks," said the UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

96.  UK Foreign Secretary Traveling To NY To Push For UN Resolution
LONDON (AP)--The U.K.'s foreign secretary left for New York Thursday to push forward a United Nations resolution aimed at ending the violence in Israel and Lebanon, the Foreign Office said.

Margaret Beckett, in a statement, said she is traveling to New York to " reinforce" the U.K.'s efforts to reach agreement on a resolution.

"The situation is urgent and we need now to complete the task," she said.

"The people of Lebanon and Israel are suffering. I am very concerned about the worsening humanitarian situation in the area," Beckett said. "We need to ensure that we make urgent progress in establishing safe corridors to move people and resources safely to where they are most needed in Southern Lebanon."

UN reaches draft Mideast deal: UK

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - France and the United States, backed by other key
U.N. Security Council members, reached agreement on Friday on a draft resolution aimed at halting the bloodshed in Lebanon and Israel, British Foreign Minister Margaret Beckett said.

"We have an agreed text," Beckett told a small group of reporters. She said the full council would receive the draft later in hopes of a possible vote on Friday. Beckett also hoped Israel and Lebanon would abide by it.

106. Resolution approve
Now left to Israel and Lebanon to stick to it.
Russia make formal bid to introduce their resolution for vote on security coucil if not resolution was tabled by US and France.

That got all going overdrive.

Force everyone hand.
No more talk of nothing to vote on yet.

A resolution is a resolution. A starting point to talk.
If not the conflict just keep on going and going till it blow into a full scale war.

114. Yup
:(

But if there is no middle

This world would have torn themself to peices long ago.

What I see happening in America is a lack of middle.

And so now the US tearing themselves to pieces.

There is no give. There is no middle ground.

Either you with US or against us mentality.

There is no more logic, there just must win at all cause mentality.

When you have no middle. It is time to fight :(

110. Dont worry about Hezbollah
They will toe the line.

They got lots of "political capitals" now as bush would like to say

But I dont think they will just throw it all away like bush did.

They got French Russia China on their side too.

Me think they not care for favour of US.

They will listen.

Even if they want to do something they will talk with French(EU) Russia and China plus the OIC first.

It this issue the Lebanon stand together. Picture very clear.

Israel paint themself into a corner.

Everyone knows that Israel boo boo big time. Now I think need handle ego with care.

Peace better than war.

French diplomat: Deal imminent on U.N. draft resolution dealing with Lebanon war
Updated 8/10/2006 1:29 PM ET

France has proposed putting a paragraph in a new draft resolution allowing Israel to make a phased withdrawal, a diplomat said.

The paragraph would say: "Lebanese troops should start deploying in south Lebanon in coordination with UNIFIL as the Israeli forces start withdrawing behind the Blue Line." The Blue Line is the unofficial border between Lebanon and Israel.

Asked whether even a draft resolution could be agreed Thursday, U.S. ambassador John Bolton told reporters "it's not unrealistic but there is still work to do."

De La Sabliere said: "We are not working to a deadline, but it is not easy."

76. For whatever reason, arabs/muslims are very cavalier when it comes to
the notion of war.

I suppose it goes back to the days of the Ottoman Empire, but at some point these folks must accept the fact that they are never going rule that much of the word again.

80. They never has really
They always fight each other.

Only few time they ever unite. Better one worry when they speak with one voice.

If you talking about the Ottoman Empire they really not that big and really I dont see them around anymore.
But if you refering to muslim.
They just follower of a religion.
Ruling the world not on their agenda.
They not even interested in converting people.
They just practice their religion.

If you refering to the ARAB countries. They will fight with each other. But if they do unite better all sit up.

89. i spoke to a room filled with pro-Israel Americans
at first, they were all very defensive about any criticisms of Israel ... they thought i would argue in support of "the other side" ...

what i told them was that it didn't matter whether Israel started the latest conflict or whether Hezbollah started it ... in the end, if they are pro-Israel I told them, war will only make the situation worse ... retaliation on civilian targets will make Israel less safe, not safer ...

today, we often see scenes of Palestinian teenagers throwing rocks at heavily armed Israeli troops ... tomorrow, I said, the weapons pointed at Israel will grow deadlier and deadlier ... the path to Israel's survival, the only path, will be finding a real truce with her enemies and neighbors ... and time is running out on that ...

the old saying gets it right: if you want peace, work for justice ...

these ideas received a surprisingly positive reaction ...

99. If a war breaks out because of Israel's bombing of Lebanon
I don't see it as the Arab League's fault.

I see it as Israel's and the US.

It's Israel that expects (with US backing) to get control of part of Lebanon. It's Israel that is being the aggressor AFAIC.

If Israel doesn't want war - they should get the hell out of there.

The chances are that this conflict will not be solved in our lifetime. This turmoil has been brewing in that region for more than a millenia.

And according to the bible, this war doesn't end...
