Lamont's main job is now to make it clear that Lieberman is no longer
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 11:14 PM by BullGooseLoony
a Democrat.

Tonight, Senator Joe Lieberman betrayed our party. The Democratic voters of Connecticut made a clear choice in this primary as to who they wanted to represent them in the Senate- that man, that choice, was Ned Lamont. But that made no difference to old Joe. By deciding to enter the GE as an Independent, Lieberman has disrespected the choice of those Democratic voters and unilaterally declared his own ego more important than both the party and the country.

Make no mistake: The CT Democratic voters did not kick Senator Lieberman out of the Democratic Party today by choosing Ned Lamont to represent them as their Senator. Lieberman could have accepted that decision, bowed out graciously and been just as much of a Democrat as he ever was. But he did not.

In deciding to run as an Independent, Lieberman made the choice to turn his back on this party. He was and is unwilling to play by the rules and has stepped across the line- entirely of his own accord. He is a traitor to the party and can no longer call himself a Democrat.

To retain our Senate seat, this is the message that Lamont must get across to our voters.

2. Like I said earlier... just like Delay and the RNC here in Texas
To hell with what the people want....These two examples speak volumes about the lack of respect they have for us, the electorate.

6. From a CT voter, Joe is arrogant,
Joe is as arrogant as the Bushmaster and his clan.
He will not listen to the voters because he alone knows what is best.
This should be his downfall if Lamont plays his cards right.
Lieberman was arrogant in the debates and would not shut up.
Like Bush, he is above following the rules and playing fair.

He thinks he knows better and tonight degraded the Democrats of Connecticut.
I hope this bites him in the butt over the next few months.

I hope the GOOD people that work for Lamont can show the voters of CT
Just how arrogant running as an independent is.
