The only thing better than beating Lieberman once...
You know what *really* sucks about this? Connecticut is one of those states, like my home of Massachusetts, where once you've won the primary, you're a mortal lock in the general. If Lieberman wasn't such a soul-sucking rat-bastard punk-ass dink, Lamont would be cruising easily. The GOP challenger is polling at 12%. So that's a pain in the ass.

On the other hand, however, the only thing better than beating Lieberman once...

...is beating him twice.

See you in November, Joe. You suck so bad that you bend light, and we will dog you out again before the snow flies. Bank on it.

and pro-Bush voters in CT, even almost half of our republicans are anti-war.

They are leading the way. They'll work hard and vote, and will serve the rest of the country well.

23. Aha! That would explain this:

All this time we thought Bush** was actually kissing Joementum. We also thought Bush** must've been hitting the Jack Daniel's pretty hard before he did so.

But now that we know that Joementum sucks so bad that he bends light  , it all comes clear: Bush** was actually kissing Pickles, or Condi, but Joementum got in the way and bent the light so that it looked like Bush** was planting one on him.

:-)

9. And he will make it easy.
Lieberman will get meaner, pettier and nastier and whine more as the months go by. Lamont just needs to keep his cool and keep the positive message.

15. Exactly
Lamont went from being a nobody to capturing ~52% of the Democratic vote in a matter of months. Between now and November, more voters in the Lieberman camp will hear his message and convert, I'm sure of it.

I'm looking forward to watching Joe self-destruct over the coming months. He had an opportunity to save his dignity tonight, and he chose to forego that dignity to feed his ego, greed, and arrogance. Someone like that deserves to get spanked twice. Lieberman underestimated Lamont once, he's a fool to do it again, IMHO.

Besides, no one likes a sore loser.

Just a reminder

Updated at 2:30 PM

Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 02:19 PM by WilliamPitt
that if the Democrat running for the House and/or Senate in your district is a piece of crap, you should vote for them because you aren't voting for *them.*

You're voting for a recapturing of the majority by the Democrats.

You're voting for the removal of people like Frist and Hastert from power.

You're voting for the recapturing of the Intelligence Committee, the Finance Committee, the Armed Services Committee, the Ways and Means Committee, the Government Oversight Committee, and a dozen other committees of unbelievably substantial power.

You're voting to give subpoena power to John Conyers, Henry Waxman and Barney Frank.

You're voting for the ability to stop judicial nominees...and remember that Justice Stevens is 86 years old and not much longer for the world. You're voting to make sure another Roberts/Alito clone isn't elevated to the highest bench.

Just a friendly reminder.

One last edit, perhaps a snooty one, but it needs saying.

24. yes, but it's obviously referring to the general election and not
primaries. Think about it. I remember that some on DU said they would never vote for a so-called "DINO" in November and he was pointing out what would happen if the Democrats won in November. It has nothing to do with voting in a competitive primary.

25. "DINO" in November , DINO in August, The end result is the same
Lieberman has a war chest of Millions, Many Ct. loyal supporters, and polls shows Lieberman has a chance as a independent. It was as Will Pitt put it back then, a wrong move to dump a DINO w/o FIRST getting the majority

27. However, if Lamont were a "lock" for the November win ...
... he wouldn't get any media play, and his issues wouldn't really be heard.

If Lieberman running helps raise the profile of this race, helps get the "stay or go" argument and other progressive issues in front of the public, then it's a good thing.

I'm hoping Lieberman's support will dwindle between now and November, but that his presence will create a situation similar to the 2004 Democratic Presidential debates, when the public was, for once, getting to hear what Democratic leaders think, by hearing it directly from the donkey's mouth rather than the jackass pundits.
