Now We Will See Where The Rest of Democrats On Hill Stand....
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 11:05 PM by Blackhatjack
If they decide to support "their good friend" Joe Lieberman, running as an independent over the duly elected Democratic Nominee Lamont, then they deserve to get the same treatment at the polls that Joe got tonight.

Time to call out the "enablers" and make them either change their ways or change their working address to somewhere other than Washington, D.C.

Running as an independent against the Democratic Nominee is political treason.

And Joe better not get $1 from the Democratic Party to run an independent campaign against its elected nominee.

1. They really can't support Lieberman.
Howard would be on them like stink on shit if they did.

Now, Reid has no choice. As soon as Lieberman files with the Secy of State to be on the ballot for US Senate as an independant, he must revoke all of Joe's committee assignments.

Democratic Party candidates need to talk to Joe and convince him to really concede defeat.

3. I agree. Basic political code: if you lose the primary, don't trash the
winner.

Lukewarm support is common but frowned on, no support is considered dirty.

Outright opposition to the winner of the primary makes you a rat unwelcome at anyone's house.

Mounting an organized campaign AGAINST the winner of the primary is the political equivalent of treason.

10. yep
Lieberman's committing policital suicide by running as an independent, especially with that vile speech he gave tonight.

There's no way Dean or Reid lets a National sitting Democrat endorse Holy Joe; it can't happen.

2. Dumb to support Loser "WAR LORD" Joe Lieberman.
Democrats need to swim away from any pro war candidates ASAP. This war in Iraq is evil...killing innocents, spending money we don't have, and creating terrorists.

5. All those who stumped for Joe need to proclaim support for Lamont
... talking to Joe privately to convince him not to run as an independent is not enough. THere needs to be party unity if we are going to take down the repubs in Nov.

7. I believe Hillary already said she would support the nominee.
I guess she is hoping that other Democrats will support her if she wins her primary in NY. (She has had a good lead, but Tasini may get some attention now, due to Lamont's win?)

9. Lamont was the precedent. Methinks Hillary may be just
a little worried, although the race doesn't seem nearly as close, from what I've read. Too bad. She needs to be reminded, HARDCORE, of what being a Democrat really is.

12. Yes, Tasini (whom I like) hasn't gotten much press.
Probably has a lot to do with not having independent wealth to get things going. He may get a little more attention now due to Lamont's success, though.

I actually think Hillary can be fairly good, when she SPEAKS UP. Maybe a little fear will give her some spine. Bush is even less popular in NY than in Connecticut, so, as far as state politics, it seems smart to forcefully oppose him.

11. Hillary's PAC has already sent Lamont $5,000
As soon as he won, Hillary put her money where her mouth was.
Good for her!!

8. Both have publicly stated they will support the DEMOCRATIC nominee
As they should. Period. sorry, you'll have to come up with something else for today's anti-Clinton thread.

As for "And Joe better not get $1 from the Democratic Party to run an independent campaign against its elected nominee." WTF?? You think the Dem Party is Goodwill, giving a donation to anyone who shows need!

Seriously, don't we all have better things to do than argue over such moot points??

:wtf:
