As a long time Joe Lieberman supporter...
...and centrist Democrat, I salute and congratulate Ned Lamont and his many supporters. Lamont ran the better campaign, and earned his victory as a Democrat from the people of Connecticut.

I know that my stance is widely unpopular, but also know that I am not alone. I hope people can remember that we are all Democrats who want to see a much-deserved victory for the party in 2006 and 2008, and that all sides can now come together to minimize the strife and division that might otherwise help the GOP.

Democrats, not Independents (I'm talking to you, Joe), not Greens, but Democrats.

Now, I'm having a little drink to toast a coming victory in 2006 - and 2008. Anyone care to join me?

22. I support Lamont as the choice of the Democrats of CT.
He would not have been my choice, but I respect the voice of the people there.

As to your question, I will not get physical with him, and I give financially only in local and state politics. But if I were in CT, I would not support Lieberman's proposed run as an Independent, and think his doing so will hurt the party.

for the Governorship. DeStefano is slightly ahead of Malloy. I hope that there is no fighting between them. Because if there is, it will really complicate the entire electoral process in CT come November when coupled with a three-way Senate race.

A party has their primary and picks their candidate who then has the best chance to win.

But this Californian just donated $$$ to Lamont. To be honest with you, I like Joe. He was my parties nominee for VP and should be Vice President right now. BUT, he's gone over to the dark side and for that I can't forgive him.

I'm pissed that he's going to run against the DEMOCRATIC nominee for Senate in CT. Therefore, I will support the NOMINEE of my party.

People can say "Hey ronnykmarshall .... you don't live in CT ... shit you don't even live in New Jersey ....." I say ..... "Hey, this is my country and I see where my money is needed I send it". Lord know that dumb ass he got running for Gov don't know his ass from a hole in a ground, so I'm gonna send my $$$ to Ned. It's always something.

It's time for Joe to stand down.

Supporting force-feeding Schiavo. Telling rape victims to hike down to the next hospital. Kissing Bush (the faux President, that is). And his solid war in Iraq hard-on.

Those aren't Democratic positions.

You had your shot, Joe.

Step aside and let Democrats lead.

61. I hope more supporters of Lieberman like you write/call him and tell him
how you feel about him running as an independent and not being a loyal democrat and respecting the will of the voters.

I personally am calling Senator Boxer's office tommorrow to let her know that her support of Lieberman in the primary was one thing, but that she needs to speak out and even speak to Lieberman to tell him this is a very negative thing for him to do to the Democratic party and the country if he runs as an independent for Senate.

I suggest we all do this and call Dems in the Senate and party to be very clear and vocal against Lieberman. The message needs to be clear that he lost and is not the Dem nominee and his running as an independent is very very negative and harmful. Not to mention it makes him look really, really bad.
